Am I the only one really raising my kids even with a partner home?

It is 7 pm on a Tuesday. You have cooked, helped with homework, refereed a fight, and you are still the one sitting at the table making sure the day lands okay. You love your partner. But tonight, the weight feels entirely yours. That loneliness inside a full house is real, and you are not wrong for feeling it. What strikes me about what God says next is this: he never designed this to be carried alone, and he does not pretend it is light work.

"And these words, which I command thee this day, shall be in thine heart: And thou shalt teach them diligently unto thy children, and shalt talk of them when thou sittest in thine house, and when thou walkest by the way, and when thou liest down, and when thou risest up."

Tonight, pick one small true thing about God, something like 'he sees you' or 'he does not walk away', and say it out loud to your child before they sleep. Not a sermon. One sentence. You are not failing by doing what you can. You are exactly the teacher God placed in that room.
