How do I live with the choices I cannot take back?
By Ricardo Zaal, Founder and Lead Pastor ·

You are sitting with it again. Maybe it is a relationship you ended badly, a year you wasted, a door you closed that never reopened. The memory surfaces at 5 in the morning, or on the drive to work on the N1, and your stomach drops. You have replayed it a hundred times. You know exactly what you would do differently. But you cannot go back. And that is one of the heaviest feelings a person carries. Here is what God says into that exact weight.
"Remember ye not the former things, neither consider the things of old. Behold, I will do a new thing; now shall it spring forth; shall ye not know it? I will even make a way in the wilderness, and rivers in the desert."
- Isaiah 43:18-19 (KJV)
Tonight, write down the one choice you keep going back to. Just one. Then say out loud to God: 'I cannot fix this. I am handing it to you.' That is not giving up. That is the moment God can begin something in the ground you are standing on right now.
What old decision do you replay the most?
God, I cannot undo what is done. But I am still here, and you are still here. Take what I cannot fix and make something from it that I cannot yet see. Amen.
Say this out loud
I am not defined by what I cannot take back. God is doing a new thing in my life right now. I will stop rehearsing the past and walk into what he is building today.
Tomorrow: Why am I so scared of dying and what is coming next?
