Why do I feel so empty inside even when life looks fine?
By Ricardo Zaal, Founder and Lead Pastor ·

It is Saturday morning. The coffee is hot, the weekend is here, nothing is technically wrong. And yet something in your chest feels hollow. You cannot explain it to anyone without sounding ungrateful. That emptiness is real, and it is telling you something true: the outside of your life cannot fill the inside of you.
"But whosoever drinketh of the water that I shall give him shall never thirst; but the water that I shall give him shall be in him a well of water springing up into everlasting life."
- John 4:14 (KJV)
Find a quiet minute today, even just in the bathroom with the door closed. Tell God out loud: 'I feel empty and I do not know why. I am asking You to fill what nothing else can reach.' That is not a big prayer. It is an honest one, and honest is exactly where He meets you.
What part of your life looks fine but still leaves you flat?
God, I have everything I am supposed to want and I still feel hollow. I cannot fix that myself. Come into the part of me that nothing else can reach, and fill it. Amen.
Say this out loud
I was made for more than a full calendar and an empty chest. God Himself is the water I have been looking for. I am going to let Him in today.
Tomorrow: How do I forgive someone I cannot stop thinking about?
