Why do I feel so jealous of my friend?
By Ricardo Zaal, Founder and Lead Pastor ·

You saw the post at 7 this morning. Maybe it was their new car, their engagement, their holiday in Cape Town. And before you could stop it, something sour moved through you. Not hate, just this quiet ache that says their good life is somehow taking from yours. That feeling has a name, and you are not a bad person for knowing it. Wisdom says the feeling is worth paying attention to, because it is telling you something about what you are anchoring your worth to. Here is what God says into it:
"A sound heart is the life of the flesh: but envy the rottenness of the bones."
- Proverbs 14:30 (KJV)
Before tonight, write down one specific thing in your own life that is good and that is yours alone. Not a comparison, just yours. It could be as small as a friend who called, or a meal you enjoyed. Sit with it for two minutes. Let it be enough.
God, I don't want to live with this weight. Teach me to find my worth in what you say about me, not in what others have. Quiet the comparison and give me a settled heart today. Amen.
