Why do I get angry so easily?

Why do I get angry so easily? - Fountain of Grace International

It was something small. A cup left on the counter. A child who asked the same question for the fourth time. Someone who cut in front of you on Pretorius Street. And before you even had a chance to think, you snapped. The words were out. You saw the hurt on their face and hated yourself for it. You are not a monster. You are someone carrying more than you can hold right now, and the overflow has to go somewhere. God is not standing over you with a list of your worst moments. He knows what is underneath the anger, and He speaks straight into it.

"Wherefore, my beloved brethren, let every man be swift to hear, slow to speak, slow to wrath: For the wrath of man worketh not the righteousness of God."

- James 1:19-20 (KJV)

Before tonight, find one person who caught your fire this week, your child, your partner, a colleague. Say it short and plain: 'I came at you harder than I should have, and I am sorry.' That is it. You do not need a speech. Just the words.

God, I do not want to keep hurting the people I love. Show me what I am really carrying, and give me a slower heart today. Teach me to hear more and react less. Amen.
