Why is leadership so lonely?
By Ricardo Zaal, Founder and Lead Pastor ·

It is Friday afternoon and you are still sitting with a decision that nobody else fully understands. You made the call, you carried the room, and now the room has gone home and you are alone with the weight of it. Nobody tells you that leadership feels like this. Like you are always the last one standing, and always the one responsible. God saw this coming long before you did. He said it plainly to Moses, one of the greatest leaders who ever lived:
"Thou wilt surely wear away, both thou, and this people that is with thee: for this thing is too heavy for thee; thou art not able to perform it thyself alone."
- Exodus 18:18 (KJV)
Before tonight ends, open your notes app or grab a piece of paper and write down the one decision that is sitting heaviest on you right now. Just one. Then say out loud: 'God, this one is too heavy for me to carry alone. I am bringing it to you.' That is not weakness. That is exactly what Moses did.
What is the one decision that is sitting heaviest on you right now?
God, I am tired of carrying this alone. You know the decision I am sitting with, you know the weight of it. I bring it to you tonight. I trust you with what I cannot figure out by myself. Amen.
Say this out loud
I do not have to carry this alone. God sees what I am holding, and he has not left me in it. I bring my heaviest decision to him today.
Tomorrow: Why do I feel let down by everyone and everything in my life?
