A Prayer When You Are Too Tired to Keep Going

• •Lord, you were faithful when our grandparents prayed, and we ask you to steady us with that same faithfulness.
• •Father, we trust your wisdom when the plan we made for our family falls apart by Wednesday.
• •God, your power does not run low when the lights go out, so we lean on you tonight.

Why we pray this: God was God long before any of us arrived, and He will be God long after. That stays the same whatever our week looks like. We say it out loud because saying it steadies us.

3. Trusting God's Infinite Understanding

• •Lord, you know the diagnosis before the doctor phones, so we bring our fear to you now.
• •God, give us peace where we cannot see the next step for our children.
• •Father, we rest in what you understand about our marriage even when we cannot explain it to anyone.
• •Jesus, we let go of the answers we do not have and ask you to carry them.

Why we pray this: We see a small piece of the picture. God sees the whole of it. Praying this is how we put down the questions that keep us awake at 2am.

4. Receiving Strength from the Almighty

• •God, we pray for everyone in this room whose heart has been worn thin by a hard year.
• •Lord, renew the energy of parents who have not slept properly since the baby came.
• •Father, strengthen every person here who feels too weak to face Monday morning.
• •Jesus, be strong in us where we are weakest, at work, at home, in the quiet hours.

Why we pray this: God gives strength to people who have run out of it. Those are the people He offers it to. So we ask honestly instead of pretending we are fine.

5. Embracing Hope in the Lord

• •God, anchor our souls when bad news arrives before we have finished our coffee.
• •Lord, we wait on what you promised while the job applications go unanswered.
• •Father, give us joy about a future we cannot see yet.
• •God, hold us secure in your faithfulness when everything around us feels unstable.

Why we pray this: Hope keeps a person standing before anything has improved. It holds on to who God is. On a Thursday at 19:00 in Pretoria North, we say that hope out loud together, and it helps.

6. Experiencing Divine Renewal

• •God, renew our minds where worry has worn the same track for months.
• •Lord, lift us above what is pressing down on our households this week.
• •Father, give us grace for the tiredness that follows us from Monday to Sunday.
• •Jesus, give us endurance for the long road ahead, week after week.

Why we pray this: Renewal happens in God's company, usually slowly. Some weeks it feels like a phone charging during loadshedding. We keep showing up anyway.

7. Living in the Power of God's Might

• •God, lift us above the fear that meets us at the gate each morning.
• •Lord, help us keep going in the work you gave us without giving up halfway.
• •Father, hold us upright on the slow days when there is no strength to spare.
• •Jesus, give us courage for the conversation we have been dreading all week.

Why we pray this: Some seasons ask us to soar. Most of them ask us to walk. God gives what each season needs, and He never runs dry.

8. Aligning with God's Sovereign Will

• •God, we hand you the plans we have been gripping too tightly.
• •Lord, give us peace in knowing you hold what we cannot control.
• •Father, teach us to wait well when your timing is slower than ours.
• •Jesus, we trust your authority over our homes, our work and our health.

Why we pray this: Handing something over is hard work. We are letting God set a timeline we would have written differently. Peace often comes once we have loosened the grip.
