Can you really be joyful when nothing has changed yet? - Fountain of Grace International

That word yet is doing something remarkable. Habakkuk looks around and sees nothing working. The harvest is gone, the animals are gone, the income is gone. And he does not pretend otherwise. He names every empty place, honestly, out loud. Then he turns, not to the circumstances, but to God himself. That turn is available to you this morning, before a single thing in your life shifts.

"Although the fig tree shall not blossom, neither shall fruit be in the vines; the labour of the olive shall fail, and the fields shall yield no meat; the flock shall be cut off from the fold, and there shall be no herd in the stalls: Yet I will rejoice in the LORD, I will joy in the God of my salvation."

- Habakkuk 3:17-18 (KJV)

Before you check your phone or step into your day, say this out loud: 'Yet I will rejoice in the LORD.' Not because everything is fine. Because he is. Say it once, slowly, and let it be the first thing you speak today.

What would change in the next hour if you chose to anchor your joy to who God is, not to what has or has not happened?

Lord, nothing around me tells me to rejoice right now. But you are still my salvation, and that has not changed. I choose you this morning. Be my joy before anything else moves. Amen.
