Why do I act like a different person around different people?
Pretoria North · 17 June 2026

"Be ye therefore perfect, even as your Father which is in heaven is perfect."
- Matthew 5:48 (KJV)
You know that feeling when you walk into a different room and something shifts in you. Your voice changes. Your shoulders settle differently. You laugh at jokes that wouldn't normally land. You are not lying, exactly. You are just... adjusting. And by the end of the day you are tired in a way that has nothing to do with work.
The truth underneath is that you are afraid. Afraid that the real version of you, the one with doubts and needs and soft places, will not be enough. So you have learned to read rooms like a survival skill. You have become very good at it. But now you cannot remember which room holds the actual you.
Here is what God sees: He sees all of you at once. Every version. Every room. And He does not ask you to perform. "Be ye therefore perfect, even as your Father which is in heaven is perfect" does not mean flawless. It means whole. Complete. Honest. The kind of whole that only happens when you stop splitting yourself into pieces.
You do not have to keep managing other people's comfort with who you are. There is one audience that matters, and He already knows your name. Step into that room today. The real one. You are safe there.
