Why do I feel so alone even when everyone depends on me?
Pretoria North · 18 June 2026

"Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new."
- 2 Corinthians 5:17 (KJV)
You have become very good at being what everyone needs you to be. Strong when they need strength. Wise when they need answers. Together when you are falling apart. People trust you because you have earned it, and somewhere along the way, that reputation became a cage.
The weight underneath is real. You cannot show the cracks without disappointing people who depend on the version they know. So you keep performing. You keep the mask fitted tight. And the lonelier part is that you have almost forgotten there is a real person under there at all, someone who is tired and afraid and needs to be held just as much as anyone else.
But listen to what God says about you: "Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new." You are not your reputation. You are not the version people have built in their minds. You are His, remade, seen, and loved exactly as you are right now, exhausted and uncertain and human.
You can begin to let people see the real you. It will frighten you. Some may pull away. But those who stay will love the true thing, and that love will heal what the performance never could. You are safe to be yourself.
