Is it okay to admit I am struggling and need help?
Pretoria North · 21 June 2026

"Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest."
- Matthew 11:28 (KJV)
You have built a life around being the one people turn to. Your hands are quick to help, your ear is ready to listen, your strength is there when others falter. It is a beautiful thing, truly. But I see you also, friend. I see how you redirect the conversation when someone asks how you are doing. I see how you carry things alone that were never meant to be carried alone.
The truth is gentler than you think. You have learned somewhere that your value lives in what you give, not in what you are. So needing anything feels like losing ground. Being honest about your own struggle feels like weakness, like you are letting people down. You have become so practiced at the performance that the real you, the one who needs grace too, gets quieter and quieter.
But listen to this: "Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest." Jesus is not asking you to arrive put together. He is asking you to come as you are, tired and needing. Your honesty is not a failure of faith. It is the beginning of it.
Today, you are allowed to be human. You are allowed to name what weighs on you, to ask for help, to show up imperfect. God does not need your performance. He needs your heart. And the people who love you need the real you more than they need another version of strength.
