Is it okay to stop pretending everything is fine? - Fountain of Grace International

"Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest."

- Matthew 11:28 (KJV)
I see you. That smile, that quick pivot to safer ground. You know how to do it so smoothly that nobody notices you have just stepped away from yourself. And I am not here to call you out for it. I am here because I recognize the weight of holding something alone. What sits underneath that smile is the fear that if you speak it out loud, it becomes too real. Maybe it is grief you have not named. Maybe it is doubt about something you are supposed to be certain of. Maybe it is the exhaustion of pretending things are better than they are. The silence feels like protection. It keeps you safe from having to hear yourself say the hard thing, and from having to see the look in someone else's eyes when you do. But listen to this: "Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest." Jesus is not asking you to fix it first or figure it out before you come. He is asking you to come exactly as you are, carrying exactly what you are carrying, with the conversation you are not ready for still locked inside. He already knows it. He is waiting. Your silence does not protect you from what is true. Only God's presence does that. And He is closer to you than your own breath, ready to meet you in the exact place you have been afraid to go alone. You do not have to smile today. You can just be.
