How do I know if I'm chasing the wrong goal?
By Ricardo Zaal, Founder and Lead Pastor ·

You set that goal a long time ago. Maybe at 22, or after a bad year when you needed something to prove. And you have been running hard ever since. But there is a moment, usually late at night or in the middle of a win that feels hollow, when a quiet thought stops you cold: is this even what I wanted? That feeling is worth listening to. Jesus did not come to hand you a better to-do list. He came to cut you loose from the whole exhausting law of earning, striving, proving. Listen to what He says:
"For the law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus hath made me free from the law of sin and death."
- Romans 8:2 (KJV)
Before you sleep tonight, write down the one goal you are pushing hardest right now. Then ask yourself one honest question: who am I trying to prove something to with this? You do not need to fix anything tonight. Just name it. That moment of honesty is where the right direction usually begins.
If the pressure to hit this goal disappeared tomorrow, would you still want it?
God, I am tired of running toward things that leave me empty. Show me what is worth my one life. Free me from chasing goals that are not Yours. Amen.
