Is it okay to finally leave something I stayed in too long? - Fountain of Grace International

"And ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free."

- John 8:32 (KJV)
You know what it is to stay. To wake up knowing something died in this situation long ago, but your feet still move through the same rooms, the same routines, because leaving means admitting you saw it dying and stayed anyway. That is a weight only you understand. And you are tired. The silence you keep is not protecting the situation. It is protecting you from that particular shame. From having to say out loud: I stayed too long. I knew better and I stayed. It is easier to pretend things might still change than to face the cost of the years you have already given to something that will not give back. That is human. That is not sin. That is just the hard mathematics of hope meeting reality. But listen. God does not measure your worth by the timing of your choices. He measures you by your honesty before Him. "The truth shall make you free," Jesus said, and that freedom does not wait for perfect timing or spotless history. It begins the moment you stop protecting the lie. You are allowed to leave. You are allowed to grieve what you thought this would be. And you are allowed to begin again, not because you are perfect, but because you are His. That is enough to carry you forward today.
