How do I stop saying things I regret to the people I love?
Pretoria North · 26 July 2026

We all have a moment we replay. Something said too quickly at the dinner table, in the car, after a long day, and the look on someone's face that followed. It is not that you are a bad person. It is that your mouth moved before your mind caught up. Solomon watched this pattern play out in thousands of lives, and he found the same simple hinge every time.
"Whoso keepeth his mouth and his tongue keepeth his soul from troubles."
- Proverbs 21:23 (KJV)
Pick one conversation today, maybe dinner, the drive home, or bedtime with the kids, and before you walk into it, pause for three seconds and ask yourself: will this word help or hurt? Just three seconds. That small gap is where wisdom lives.
Lord, guard my mouth today. Let the words I speak inside my home build up and not tear down. Give me that moment of pause before I speak, and fill it with Your wisdom. Amen.
