Is it too late to make up for missing time with my child?

They are asleep now. The house is quiet and you are standing in the hallway with that weight in your chest, replaying the moment you meant to show up and didn't. Maybe the day ran out. Maybe something urgent swallowed the space where your child was waiting. Either way, you are here at 10pm feeling it, and that feeling means something. It means you love them. Jesus had crowds pressing in from every side, and he still stopped for the children everyone else was turning away.

"But Jesus said, Suffer little children, and forbid them not, to come unto me: for of such is the kingdom of heaven."

Tomorrow morning, before the day gets going, find your child and give them five uninterrupted minutes. Sit on the floor if you have to. No phone, no half-attention. Five minutes of full presence is not a small thing, and it is enough to start.

God, I don't want to keep missing what matters most. Help me show up for my child tomorrow with my whole heart. Thank you that today is not the whole story. Amen.
