Why do I make excuses for everything?

You are standing in the kitchen, or the car park, or the bathroom at work, and there is something you know you need to face. You know it. But the voice in your head has already lined up ten reasons why today is not the day. Maybe the excuses are not laziness at all. Maybe they are fear dressed up as logic, because somewhere underneath them is a truth that feels too heavy to pick up. But here is what God says into that exact moment:

"And ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free."

Pick one thing you have been circling for a week. Write it down in one sentence on your phone or a piece of paper, no more than ten words. Just naming it out loud to yourself is a step toward the door that God says leads to freedom.

God, I am tired of going in circles. Give me the courage to face what I have been avoiding, and remind me that the truth is not there to break me but to free me. Amen.
