Why do I feel empty even when I get everything done?
Pretoria North · 1 July 2026

"Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest."
- Matthew 11:28 (KJV)
You wake early, you move through your day with real purpose, you tick off the boxes. By evening you have done good work. And still, somewhere inside, you feel like you have missed something important. That feeling is not laziness talking. That is something true.
What happens is this: we can fill our days so completely with the urgent that we never meet the actual. The people we love need more than our efficiency. God needs more than our busyness. And you, underneath all that productivity, you need to be known and to know Him. The noise of doing can become a very safe place to hide from the vulnerability of simply being present.
But listen to what He says: "Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest." Rest is not laziness. Rest is alignment. When you stop long enough to be with God, to be with the people you love without your phone or your mental checklist, something settles. The important things start to show themselves clearly.
You are not failing because you are busy. You are invited to something deeper. Today, let one thing go. Sit with someone you love. Pray without rushing. God will keep what matters. He always does.
