Why do I always stay quiet and hide who I really am? - Fountain of Grace International

"Ye are the light of the world. A city that is set on an hill cannot be hid."

- Matthew 5:14 (KJV)
You have learned to be small in rooms where your voice was not safe. You swallow your thoughts before they reach your lips. You have watched what happens when people speak truth and get hurt for it, so you chose differently. That choice kept you safe. It also kept you quiet. But here is what is true underneath: you are not actually small. The thoughts you carry, the convictions you hold, the perspective only you can see from where you stand—these are real. They matter. God put them in you. The cost you paid to hide them was not the price of wisdom. It was the price of survival. There is a difference. Listen to what Jesus says about this: "Ye are the light of the world. A city that is set on an hill cannot be hid." You were not made to dim yourself. Not forever. Not for anyone. The God who knows every thought you have ever kept silent knows also that you are worthy of being heard. Today you can begin to trust that your voice has a place. Not everywhere, not with everyone, but somewhere real. God is not asking you to perform anymore. He is asking you to come alive. That begins when you believe you are allowed to.
