Why do I feel like a failure as a parent?

Why do I feel like a failure as a parent? - Fountain of Grace International

It is 21:30 on a Wednesday night in Pretoria. The kids are finally in bed. You are sitting in the kitchen, phone in hand, replaying the day. The sharp word you said at supper. The school letter you forgot to sign. The homework you did not check. That quiet, heavy feeling settles in: I am not enough for them. You are not the only parent who ends the day like this. That feeling is real. But it is not the final word. God described himself once as a shepherd who does not drive the flock hard. He leads the ones who are carrying young, gently.

"He shall feed his flock like a shepherd: he shall gather the lambs with his arm, and carry them in his bosom, and shall gently lead those that are with young."

- Isaiah 40:11 (KJV)

Before you close your eyes tonight, write one sentence on your phone or a piece of paper. Not a list of failures. One thing you did today that showed your child they matter to you. It can be small. You showed up. Write it down and read it back.

God, I am tired and I feel like I am getting this wrong. Lead me gently. Help me see what my children need and give me the strength to give it. I trust you with them and with me. Amen.
