Does God even notice the ordinary work I do every day?
Pretoria North · 27 August 2026

You showed up again. Made the sandwiches, opened the laptop, answered the calls, filed the papers. Nobody clapped. Nobody noticed, probably. And somewhere around midmorning you thought, does any of this actually matter? That feeling is more common than you know. But God does not measure your work the way your boss does, or the way the morning traffic measures your mood. He sees every ordinary Thursday.
"And whatsoever ye do, do it heartily, as to the Lord, and not unto men;"
- Colossians 3:23 (KJV)
Pick one task you will do today, something small and easy to rush through, and before you start it, say out loud or in your head, 'Lord, I am doing this for You.' One task. That is it. See what shifts.
Lord, I do not want to sleepwalk through today. Remind me that You see what no one else sees, and that ordinary work done for You is never wasted. Amen.
