Why do I work so hard and still fail?

You got up early. You did the work. You did it right, or close enough, and nobody said a word. Not a thanks, not a nod, not even a glance. And somewhere between the second cup of coffee and the long drive home, a question crawled up: what is the point? That question is not weakness. It is what happens when the only people measuring your work are people who are too busy to look. God is not too busy.

"And whatsoever ye do, do it heartily, as to the Lord, and not unto men;"

Before you start the first real task of your day, whether that is a school run, a spreadsheet, or a pile of dishes, say quietly, 'This one is for You.' Just that. One task, one small shift in who you are working for. Notice how it sits differently.

What would change today if you believed that one pair of eyes never missed a single thing you did?

Lord, I am tired of working for people who do not see me. Remind me today that You see every ordinary thing I do, and that nothing done for You is wasted. Amen.
