Why do I feel so lonely even though I have lots of friends? - Fountain of Grace International

"A man that hath friends must shew himself friendly: and there is a friend that sticketh closer than a brother."

- Proverbs 18:24 (KJV)
You have more followers than friends. More notifications than conversations where someone actually asks how you are. The loneliness is worse because you're surrounded. You've optimized connection into a kind of performance - curated, scheduled, measured in metrics. And it works. People respond. But nobody sees you. Not the real you. The one who wakes up at three in the morning wondering if anyone would notice if you disappeared for a month. Here's what I've learned burying children and rebuilding from ashes. Real relationship costs something. Not money. Presence. Vulnerability. The willingness to be boring together, to sit in silence, to let someone know you're afraid. "A man that hath friends must shew himself friendly: but there is a friend that sticketh closer than a brother." That closeness requires risk. Most of your current connections don't. They're safe. They're also starving you. You're not lonely because you're isolated. You're lonely because you're known by many and unknown by anyone. This week, name one person who could actually handle the real version of you. Then do the terrifying thing. Blessings - Fountain of Grace International
