Why do I feel lonely even when people are around me?

You can be in a room full of people and still feel completely alone. Not invisible to them, exactly. Just unseen in the way that matters. Nobody knows what is sitting on your chest this morning. Nobody asks. And you have stopped expecting them to. That kind of loneliness is one of the quietest aches a person carries. But there is a presence that has never once looked past you.

"Whither shall I go from thy spirit? or whither shall I flee from thy presence?"

Before you get to work today, say out loud, even just in the car or in the bathroom, 'God, you see me right now.' Not a long prayer. Just that. Saying it out loud is different to thinking it. Try it once and notice what shifts.

Lord, I feel unseen today and I am tired of carrying that alone. Thank you that your presence is not something I have to earn or explain myself into. You already know. Meet me here. Amen.
