You're Exhausted Because You're Trying to Do Everything Alone

Jesus, Jesus, Jesus, Jesus, Jesus, Jesus. Oh, we worship you. We praise you, my God. We acknowledge you. We lift your name up high. My God, for you are the King of Kings, the Lord of Lords, the lily of the valley, the sweetest roses, share a bright and morning star. Oh, in all the ways that I hear before the world begins. Above all kingdoms, above all thrones, above all land as the world has ever known. Jesus, Jesus, Jesus, above all wealth and treasures of the earth. Greetings in the wonderful name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Saviour. This morning I just want to give you God all the glory, the praise, the honour that He deserved, for He is worthy to be praised. There is no one like Him. No one can even be compared to Him. And therefore we come this morning in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Saviour, and we bring God, we bring everybody this morning. God, we bring everyone that has been in a situation where they just feel tired this morning, Father God, tired of everything that has been happening in life. We bring them before you, Father God, because they are just mere human beings, Father God, and therefore they need to grow weary, they need to grow tired. But Heavenly Father, this morning, even though they are tired, even though they are growing weary, even though they feel in the depths, even though they feel down, Father God, this morning, I bring them to you, Father God, because I know, Father God, that you are the one that can lift up, Father God. You are the one that gives strength to the weary, Father God. You are the one that put them up there, giving them strength, Father God. Therefore, in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Saviour, I pray this morning, Father God, that as each and every one that is coming to this place, Father God, I pray for them for wherever they have been getting weary, getting tired, getting rejected, Father God, I pray now in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Saviour, that you will just undertake for them, Father God, in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Saviour. We have come up to this place, Father God, to glorify your name, to lift your name up high, Father God. I pray in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Saviour, that you will just help us this morning, as we grow weary, Father God, so that by your blood we will be cleansed, Father God, from everything that is not from you in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Saviour. I pray in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Saviour, that you will just undertake for them, Father God, in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Saviour, that you will just undertake for them, Father God, in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Saviour, that you will just undertake for them, Father God, in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Saviour, that you will just undertake for them, Father God, in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Saviour, In the mighty name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior, I pray, amen. Heavenly Father, you are King of Kings, Lord of Lords, and therefore, I bring this message to you now, Father God, let it not be a mere man that bring this message, but you, from your heavenly places, bring this message this morning. In the mighty name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior, I pray now for the God, also for the God, for those who are at home listening to this, where they're online, Father God, I pray for them now in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior. My message is titled this morning, Why am I so tired, Lord? Why am I so tired, Lord? Why am I so tired? I am tired within the depths of myself. I can't take this anymore. I can't take anything anymore. It's like as if I am alone in this world. Am I doing everything myself? Am I the one that is supposed to go beyond everything that is in this world? Am I the one that is supposed to be fighting everything in this place? Am I supposed to be the one that is doing everything for the God? This is the prayer that some of us are praying this morning. And this morning, I want to come to you and I ask you this morning that as you listen to this message, let this message be a message that will bring you strength. Let this message be a message that will bring you something that is highly, highly lifted by God himself in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior. So my scripture I want to start with is in the book of Jeremiah 31 verse 25. Now, Jeremiah 31 verse 25 says it so nicely, for I have situated the weary soul and I have replenished every sorrowful soul. And I have every sorrowful soul. Now, that is the King James Version. Now, the good news Bible says it like this. I will refresh those who are weary and will satisfy with food. Everyone who is weak from hunger. So this morning, I want to tell you a story. Now picture this. You are in a place where you find yourself that you have to do everything yourself. Now, whenever you find yourself in a place like that, picking up. Number one, you are the manager. Number two, you are also the salesperson. Number three, you are also the administrator to do the administration. Number four, you are also the cleaner. You cleaning the place where you work. Number five, you are also the customer satisfaction or satisfactory or somebody who deals with customer complaints. Just picture that. Find yourself a place where you are now sitting there and as the customer is coming in, now the next moment, the customer is telling you, look, I want to buy this. And as you were just about to go to the shelf and find the thing that the customer is looking for, the next thing, the phone rings, you have to pick up the phone. By the time you answer the phone, the customer say, hey, I'm in a hurry here. Why are you answering that call? While you are busy with the client, somebody else walk in and the person is just about to take something out of the shelves where you are busy with. The next thing you find him running and you try to run after him. What kind of life is that? It's a life that is not of God for you. It's a life that is unfair to watch you because how can you be helping one customer while another one is stealing, while another one is on the phone? It is impossible. It's impossible to do that. So why am I so tired, Lord? Why am I so tired? And the word of God is coming to me this morning saying to me that I am so tired because I want to do everything myself, because you want to do everything yourself. You cannot handle everything. It is only God that can do everything by himself. You as a mere man have only two hands, two ears, one mouth, two feet. That's it. You can only deal with two things at the time. If you can deal with three, your focus will not be at another man, at another site. So this morning, I want to bring to you this morning this message, knowing that you have come to a place where you feel in your life, you are tired. You are so tired that it feels that you have been doing everything yourself. But this morning, God is telling me to tell you that you don't need to do it everything on your own. You don't need to do everything yourself. It's no need for you to do everything yourself because it's useless for you doing everything yourself. Because once you do everything yourself, you won't be able to cope with life's difficulties. Because God is the one that can deal with everything this morning. So this morning, I want to actually not just tell you, but I actually want to challenge you in this. I want to challenge you in this. I want to challenge you to actually take the time and take stock of your life. Now you want to ask me, how do I take stock of my life? Do I take stock of my life? How will I be able to take stock of my life? What is it to take stock of my life? What is it to take stock of my life? Number one is that whenever you come to a place where you feel you are tired, it is time to take stock. But how do I take stock? Number one is to look at your life and see in your life, is everything okay? Is everything going according to the plans you have set for yourself? Is everything okay going through the things that you have set yourself to do? Now, how do you become tired? It's because you promised yourself you want to do one, two, three things and you didn't do it. I'm just making an example. When you come in the morning to wake up, the first thing you tell yourself, if I get up here, I want to make sure that I open the windows. Now, when you get up, the first thing that will happen is that you will literally want to go to the window to open the window. But realize the pee is actually so strong that it want to push me first to the toilet. Now, what happens when you go through to the toilet, you realize you are done in the toilet. It's a pressure of life that pushes you not to take up the window. So pressures of life is there to actually detour us from where we want to become, where we want to go to. So this morning, the reason why you feel tired is because of the plans you set for yourself is there. But you're not going through your plans. You're not working according to your plans. You're not taking up the first step is to open the window, then go to the toilet because you have set yourself the plan according to the day. Now, if you don't put up a plan for yourself, life difficulties will put the plan for you. It will give you a plan according to the life's difficulties for you. So therefore, if you plan on doing one thing and life's difficulties push you into another way, your plan has been set there already, although you need to go to the bathroom quickly, you will still come back to do the windows. So therefore, why you are tired is because of you thinking of starting something big and do everything quick. Something big doesn't come quick. Something big doesn't come quick. Something big comes with small, small interactions towards where you want to go. If you want to go to Joburg, you cannot just get in suddenly and you are in Joburg when you are in Pretoria. You need to first take a step either by getting into a car, either by getting into a taxi or whatever means of transportation or stop walking. You will not be getting from here quickly to Joburg if you don't follow steps. And therefore, people get tired because of the reason they get tired is that they think that whatever I've set my mind to do, I will do it with the quickest step there is of getting there. Why am I so tired this morning, Lord? Why am I so tired this morning, Lord? Then the Lord come back to me and he said to me, look, it is not that you are tired. It is actually because you want to do everything yourself. Now, this is why you need to make sure that whenever you set up a plan, get somebody to help you. Now, I want to go back. I want to go back once. Let me give you a story about a prophet. Now, the prophet got chased by Ayyub and Jezebel, the two people, they are chasing the prophet. Now, as they were saying, you killed so many of my people, now I'm going to kill you. So the prophet ran away. Elijah ran away. Now, on his way to run away, he grew tired. As he was about to grow tired, he went to go under a tree. Now, I don't know the tree's name in English, Afrikaans. He went under a forest of beasts. Now, as I said, under a forest of beasts, he was so tired. Why did I work so hard? Why did I have such a victory? But now, probably, Ayyub and Jezebel are after me. Now, what happened to the Prophet? Now, as they are after him, they want to kill him. But he hit him hard. But at the same time, he hit him hard, he was tired. And he was going to sit under a tree. And as he was just about to grow tired and feeling, I can't take it anymore. Just as he was about to give up and say, now you can do whatever you want to, just take my life. Now, God sent a raven, a raven to him. Now, as he was about to send the raven, then what happened is the raven brought him a piece of bread. Now, picture this. You are tired and God's sending somebody to you. So why are you tired? Number one is because you are trying to do big quick. Number one, you are trying to do big quick. You can't be doing big things quickly. You have to do big in a process. Number two is because of the problem is that you're not facing your problems with God. You're facing your problems alone. You're not requesting help from people. I should have changed the order because it's always best to start first with God and then with men. So let's start again. Number one is to start with God. Start asking him, Lord Jesus, I'm tired, I'm tired. I mean, be a human being. Don't come and say, Lord, you know how I feel. You understand how I feel. You know where I'm going. No, no, no, no, no. Don't be just a timid. Don't be timid about it. Be a human being. Oh my God, I can't take this anymore. It's been for years and years. I've been struggling from where I am, where you want me to be to go. But you have not been sending me any help. Come on, Lord Jesus, send me some help, man. I want to go. I want to go and then because this road is long. So that is the reason why, number one, you have to make sure that you start speaking to God and tell him, I'm tired. Don't tell him, with that passion and telling him. So that is what you need to do. Number one. Number two, you have you have to make sure big can't be done quick. You have to do it with the process. And then I go to number three is that you have to make sure that you have somebody to help you along the way. That is why you are tired because you cannot do it alone if somebody is not helping you. So this is what will happen is number one, you should be asking to God, you should be speaking to him. You should be telling him that you are tired and you can't take it anymore to help you with something. Then he might be sending a raven to you. Number two is whenever you have something big to do, take step number one towards step number 10 to get what you need. Don't just take any step. Take a step one, two, three, four up until where you get. Number three is ask somebody's help. How do you do with somebody's help? Now, the Bible says it so nicely in Acts 17 that when there was a fight going on and Moses was standing there all growing tired, lifting up his hands to God, growing tired, growing tired, growing tired. There was two men that came to him and they asked him to help. I mean, they helped him. So the one was Aaron and the one was you, you, who? H-U-R, H-U-R, H-U-R, Aaron and who? Now they were lifting up his hands and as they were lifting up his hands, they were winning in the fight. Now, as the one was lifting up this side and the one was lifting up that side, they were winning. As soon as they leave and Moses grow tired and let his hands go, they were losing. And then they had to come and lift up their hands. So every time that happened is because he was using his right hand men to help him. Therefore, whenever you are in need of getting strength, you need to go back to the source of strength. You need to go back to the source of strength, which is God, then telling him that this is the plan and send me destiny helpers, because destiny helpers is people that will come and help you to go where you need to be. Now, if you can imagine something like this, you are going through a road. Suddenly there's a tire burst and you tend to not have a spinner. You cannot go any further if somebody doesn't come to help you or you phone somebody to come and help you. Or your phone if you are if you are privileged to have an AA or if you are privileged to have the tow trucks. So if you are privileged to have tow trucks, they will be able to come and help you to change the tire. That is why you need to have this in order to start going somewhere. So this morning, I want to make sure that I let you know that you cannot be going without God. You cannot be going without the plan and you cannot be going to a place without some help from somebody. Therefore, there's such a nice word in Afrikaans, mens, as mens dirah anher mens. The same meaning in Zulu, Azanda, Zia, Gege, Zahan. If you learn to do these three steps according to this, you will find yourself not grow weary. Because the Bible says it also so nicely in Philippians 4 verse 13, I can do all things. I can do all things through Christ which strengthens me. So you can do everything, but if you cannot do it through Christ that strengthens you, then you are just about mere men who will grow tired, who will grow tired. So why am I growing so tired Lord? It's because I want to do it on my own. I'm not doing it according to you asking me. And the nicest part, if you think that, look I am old, maybe I am old, I need to grow tired. There's some news for you. There is some news for you. And the news that I have for you is according to the Bible, you think that you are old, growing tired. It's not you being old and growing tired. Also young grow tired. Isaiah 40 says it so nicely, But they that wait upon the Lord shall renew their strength. They shall mount up with wings as eagle. They shall run and not grow weary. They shall walk and not grow faint. So the key word here is that you have to wait upon the Lord to grow. You have to wait upon the Lord. Now going back to a time just before Solomon was born, the Bible says that behold a son shall be born to thee. A son shall be born to thee who shall be a man of rest. And I will give him rest from all his enemies. Round about for this name shall be called Solomon. And I will give him peace, quickness and Israel in his days. So now picture this, when Solomon was born or before he was born, he was already called a man of rest. So sometimes you are called a man of rest already because of the forefathers of you, because you are in the lineage of Solomon. So if you have taken up the Lord as your personal Lord and Savior, you are in the lineage of Solomon and therefore you need to be a man of rest yourself as well. So the Bible also says it so nicely that as you are tired, it is very important that when somebody is tired, you take rest. And therefore that is why Elijah was resting. And as he was resting, he waited upon the Lord. So by resting, you need to rest now. One thing people don't know or not yet to know is that you might be working a full 10 days straight, Monday to Monday to Monday to Monday. But at the end of the day, you grow tired. If you don't take a rest in between, that is why people have actually noticed that people that have been taking breaks in between a Saturday or Sunday rest. They are more focused at work to do their job by resting. God in his infinite divine big authority has also rested on the seventh day. So therefore why am I so tired is because you have not taken up a rest. Most people will tell you, look, I have been working till December on the 15th of December. I'm closing regardless whether I lose business or not. I will be closing on the 15th of December. I will only come back on the first week of January every year, regardless of whatever you are telling me. So if you don't rest, you grow tired. Now resting is a means of taking your mind off from what you are doing. Like in this case where I've given you an example is that I've given you an example of work. If you work, you take up the work and then after every six months, take a time to rest. And when you come back, you will be more focused to do or your brain will be switched off in the interim and you gain more knowledge or more understanding of your job situation. Because most of the time people don't understand that rest is the best for when you are tired. Rest is the best for when you are tired. So this morning I want to come to you now and I want to give you two things that you should be doing whenever you feel tired. Number one is that when you feel tired, sit back and look at your life and take inventory of what is happening around your life. You might be a pastor that is sitting in church every day doing God's work, every day listening to people's problems. But when it comes to giving solutions to others, you might not be having a solution for yourself. So I'm asking you today to sit back, take it like this and say, Okay, I'm tired. What do I need to do? And then it might be that you just need to focus on yourself for a minute. Because by focusing on yourself for a minute, it will help you to see where the pain is coming from. See, like for argument's sake, when your body has an ache on the knee, it makes you not to move forward. It makes you not to move forward. So this is what will happen. Is that when you have a problem on your knee and you start walking, the more you walk, the more the string will become on your knee. So it's then best to take back, sit back and say, let my knee first get better. Because if you don't give your knee rest, you will regret it in the long run. So therefore, if you are a pastor or if you are somebody who runs a company or if you are somebody who is tired, take back, relax, sit back and think to yourself and say, where is the pain that I was supposed to listen to before it grew to this point? So that is why it's very important to understand that whenever the pain is there, start listening to your own self, start listening to your own self. Now the Bible says in Mark 11 verse 28, come unto me, all you that labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. Take my hook upon you and learn of me, for I am weak and lowly in heart, and ye shall find rest unto your soul. For my yoke is easy and my burden is light. Now, if you feel things have become too much, it's very important to take note and say, Lord Jesus, I take upon your yoke that is light, not the yoke of this world, your yoke that is light. In the mighty name of Jesus Christ, the Lord and Savior, we pray. So I want to come back and declare a few things. I want to come and give you some prayer points because the Bible says in John 22 verse 28, thou shalt also decree a thing and it shall be established. So I want us to declare and pray some prayers so that whatever that you've been going through, wherever you want to go, why you are tired, so that this can be going away. Now, Psalm 116 verse 1 and 2 says, I love the Lord because he heard my voice and my supplication, because he had inclined his ears unto me. Therefore, I will call upon him as long as I live. Now, this morning, I want to decree and declare that as you speak to God, he will hear your voice. I want to decree and declare that as you speak to him, he will hear your voice. He will harken to you and to you whatever your request is. I decree and declare that the Bible says it that I love the Lord and he that loves the Lord, the Lord will hear your cry. The Lord will hear you. I decree and declare that just because you love Jesus, he will hear you. I want to decree and declare that he give it power to the faint and to them that have no might. He increased strength according to Isaiah 14.29. So I decree and declare this morning that God will give you power because you feel fainted and you feel that your strength is not there. He will increase your strength this morning. I decree and declare just because God is giving you the power and no one else will give you that power. I decree and declare this morning even though the youth shall faint and be weary and the young shall utterly fall, but they that wake upon the Lord shall renew their strength. They shall mount up. So this morning, I decree and declare that as you wake upon the Lord, even though you grow faint and you grow weary, God will come through for you in the mighty name of Jesus Christ the Lord and Savior. And then he said also you shall mount up with wings as eagle and I shall run and not be weary. Although you have been weary, just because you are relying on him this morning, you shall be not be growing faint. You shall not be, you shall run and not be weary. You shall walk and not faint in the mighty name of Jesus Christ the Lord and Savior. I pray now in the mighty name of Jesus. According to Isaiah 43, I decree and declare, Thus saith the Lord, which maketh the way away in the sea and apart in the mighty waters. This morning, I decree and declare that this morning wherever there was a road that was hidden from you, he will open that road for you. I decree and declare this morning that everywhere you go, God will make a way for you. The plan that you have, God will make a way for you in the mighty name of Jesus. And where he also said, which planet fought the chariots and the horses and the army and the power, they shall be down together. They shall not rise. They are extinct. They are quenched as thorns. So everything that is coming against you this morning, I decree and declare that they will not rise up against you. They will not be moving to you. They will not overpower you according to God's word because he is the one that will take you in the mighty name of Jesus Christ the Lord and Savior. Remember here not the former things, neither consider the old things. I decree and declare that everything that you've been going through up to thus far that was not from God, I decree and declare that as from today, remember not to be the former because the former has been taken away. Neither consider the old things because God is about to bring a new thing in your life. God is about to bring a new thing in your life. God is about to bring a new thing in your life. I decree and declare every new thing that God has been putting up in your sight in the mighty name of Jesus Christ the Lord and Savior. God will bring it out in the mighty name of Jesus. God will bring that new thing for you now in Jesus' mighty name. In the mighty name of Jesus Christ the Lord and Savior, I pray now also this morning, Father God, as everybody that has been growing tired and weary, Father God, you that said you will renew their strength, come and renew their strength now in the mighty name of Jesus Christ the Lord and Savior, I pray now this morning. So I want to just go back to, I just want to go back to what I said to you in the beginning, why you grow tired and what you should be doing. Number one, you should be relying on God because if you rely on God, those who wait upon the Lord shall renew their strength and they will not be afraid and never grow weary. Number two is that as you rely on God, I want you to understand that you have to have a plan because a man without a plan grows tired because everything that you have got a plan for, somebody else will plan for you. So number one, rely on God. Number two, put a plan up so that the plan can be something that you want a plan for and not somebody else plan for you. Number three is make sure that you are always using somebody to help you wherever you go, get somebody to help you, get somebody to help you. I mean as Moses was there and Aaron and Hur they were there to help. God will always help you according to his plan and purpose for your life. So this morning as we come to the end of this service, I want to ask that somebody who has not been receiving the Lord as their Savior, because remember my first thing has started by saying that you should be relying on God. If you're not relying on God, nothing will make you to grow strength. You will always be tired. So if you have not received the Lord and Savior, the Lord as your personal Savior this morning, I want to pray for you Lord Jesus. This morning I come to you in the mighty name of Jesus Christ the Lord and Savior. I bring this person before you now. I pray Lord that as they were seeking your face for the God, let them hear from you my God. Let them be the one that says here I am Lord because you said every tongue shall confess that you are Lord. They confess with their tongue that you are Lord and Savior of their lives for the God. They confess that you are the one that will take over in their lives this morning. So therefore they are new creations for the God as they were giving their lives to you for the God renew their minds and make them to go far in life in the mighty name of Jesus Christ the Lord and Savior. I also want to pray for somebody who said but Lord Jesus I have been knowing you. I know you so so so well but things has not been going well in my life. I feel like I've been I've been where I was before with you things has changed and grown backwards in you. So I want to pray for that person now in the mighty name of Jesus. Heavenly Father the person that is listening to this this morning for the God I pray in the mighty name of Jesus Christ the Lord and Savior that you will pick them up from where they were where they have made mistakes for the God so that they can know you better in the mighty name of Christ our Lord and Savior this morning. I also want to pray this morning for somebody who look Lord I know and I know and I know that you were the one that was actually giving me all this to do but I feel that it's too much it's too much I can't take it anymore. I want to pray for that person now in the mighty name of Jesus Christ our Lord and Savior. Lord Jesus help them now because I yes the Father God some days the constrained battles and the demands feels overwhelming. We are tired and worn out. We are fatigued and disheartened. There never seems to be enough hours in the day to do everything that needs to be done and it's difficult to persevere in the face of failure and despair. Please help us to remember that you are near and by you that you are near nearby and that you have promised never to abandon us you said it in your word you will never leave us nor forsake us and thank you for being our refuge and strength and ever-present assistance in times of hardship help us to trust you more to spend less time spinning our wheels distracted and concerned and bettering in our own powers this morning. Forgive us Lord for failing to lift our gaze first to you. Forgive us Lord for first looking up to you for the days we like to come before you. The days fill us with the power of your Holy Spirit with your strength serenity and pleasure of my God. Fill us with your spiritual wisdom and discernment for the God in the mighty name of Jesus. The constant reminder that your presence will go with us and you will give us rest for the God. The constant reminder for the God that you will give us rest for the God and we also pray for your recovery in all aspects of our lives including our physical, our emotional, our mental and spiritual health my God in the mighty name of Jesus. We beg that you strengthen and fortify us for the days ahead. No no no my God I'm not going to beg because you you promised that you will give us you will give us for the God the strength and fortify us for the days ahead like you have given to Elijah the day when he was under the tree for the God. We know you have a big plan for people who believe in your name for the God. You have a big plan for people that believe in your name my God. Help us not to let our days diversions and problems wear us down to a point of fatigue my God. In the mighty name of Jesus Christ our Lord and Savior I pray this morning also for the God that they understand that you want us to enjoy life abundantly and freely. I mean we understand that you as a God want us to enjoy life's abundance and freedom but thank you for being larger than whatever we confront in our lives my God and our objective is to reflect on your love and light to the world in dearer need of the hope for the God. So this morning I want to come to you in the mighty name of Jesus Christ our Lord because we are also remind the I mean you need to also remind us that in all current problems and battles they are yours. You said it that the battle is not ours the battle is the Lord's for the God. So please remind us every time we grow weary to know for the God that these battles that we are going through is your battles in the mighty name of Jesus. We also think anything that we face may defeat us in one fell swoop us by our strong by your strong hands. Thank you for the success in our lives that can only be explained as God did it. Thank you for the strength that we can only explain that God you did it in the mighty name of Jesus Christ. We give you the praise the honor for everything you accomplish for everything you accomplish every day even when we can't see it all completely grasp all completely grasp your methods for the God. We want to say thank you for the God for even though we're not seeing it for the God you are there to help us through for the God. We adore you Lord and we need you right now in the mighty name of Jesus. We are reminded of our have a fidelity for the God yet we know that we are strong in you. We are weak for the God yet we know we are strong in you for the God. We raise our hearts and hands in praise to you. Thank you for your wonderful love and concern.
