Why do I keep procrastinating things I want to do?

You sat down this morning with a list. Maybe you opened your phone instead. Maybe you made tea, then more tea, then stared at the ceiling. Something you keep meaning to do is still sitting there, untouched. It happens to everyone, and the honest question underneath it is worth asking quietly: when you go still, are you resting, or are you running? Maybe you needed a real break. Maybe something felt too heavy to start. Either way, you are not alone in that tension, and God speaks right into the middle of it.

"Be still, and know that I am God: I will be exalted among the heathen, I will be exalted in the earth."

Pick one thing on your list, just one small step, not the whole thing. Before you start, sit for sixty seconds with no phone and no noise. Tell God honestly where you are, stuck, tired, or scared, and then take the one step. Not all of them. One.

God, I do not always know if I am resting in You or hiding from something hard. Teach me the difference. Help me be still in a way that fills me up, not one that keeps me stuck. Amen.
