Why can't I switch my brain off at night?

Why can't I switch my brain off at night? - Fountain of Grace International

It is 11pm. The house is quiet. You are lying there in the dark and your brain is running through tomorrow's meeting, last week's argument, the bill you forgot, the thing you should have said. Your body is horizontal but nothing in you has stopped. That kind of tired goes deeper than sleep can reach. Jesus said something into exactly that moment:

"Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest."

- Matthew 11:28 (KJV)

Before you close your eyes tonight, put your phone face down and say one sentence out loud, just one: 'I hand this over.' Name the specific thing circling your mind right now, whether it is money, a person, or tomorrow. Say it to God like you would say it to a friend sitting on the edge of the bed. Then breathe.

What is the one thing your mind keeps returning to tonight that you have not yet let yourself hand over?

God, my mind is loud and I am tired. I bring you the weight I have been carrying alone. Take it. Give me the rest you promised. Amen.
