Why do I wake up at 3am scared about things I cannot control?

3am is its own kind of alone. The house is quiet but your chest is tight, and your mind is already running through tomorrow, next month, the thing you cannot fix. You are not weak for lying there like that. David knew exactly what that felt like, and he wrote it down. He did not say God removed the thing he was afraid of. He said God delivered him from the fear itself. That is what this verse is offering you right now.

"I sought the LORD, and he heard me, and delivered me from all my fears."

- Psalm 34:4 (KJV)

Before you do anything else this morning, say Psalm 34:4 out loud, slowly, once. Put your own name where 'I' is. Say it like you mean it, even if you do not fully feel it yet. That is not performance. That is your mouth leading your heart somewhere true.

Lord, I am tired of being afraid of things I cannot see or fix. I am seeking you right now. Hear me. Deliver me from this fear the way you promised. I trust you with today. Amen.
