How do I know if someone loves me or just needs me?
Pretoria North · 30 May 2026

"Greater love hath no man than this, that a man lay down his life for his friends."
- John 15:13 (KJV)
You're tired, aren't you? Tired of pretending that being needed is the same as being loved. It's a subtle web, this one, spun from whispered requests and silent expectations. You give and give, hoping one day it will feel like what you imagine love should be. But inside, it feels more like a transaction than a relationship.
The truth is, you're draining yourself for someone who clings to you like a lifebuoy. They stay afloat on your effort, not on mutual affection. It's like adding water to a cracked pot, hoping it will hold just this once. But love isn't a burden to carry; it's a shared shelter, a refuge. "Greater love hath no man than this, that a man lay down his life for his friends."
Pause and see the difference between love that sustains and need that drains. Which one are you pouring your soul into?
