Why do I feel so overwhelmed all of a sudden?

It hits you at 17:30 on a Tuesday. The kids are loud, something is burning on the stove, your phone is going off, and you are standing in the middle of your own home feeling like you cannot breathe. Nobody warned you it would feel this close, this fast, this much. You are not falling apart. You are just carrying more than one person was designed to hold alone. And into that exact moment, not a calm Sunday morning, but that Tuesday at 17:30, this is what God says:

"God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble."

- Psalm 46:1 (KJV)

Before you do the next thing on your list today, stop where you are. Kitchen, car, bathroom, wherever. Say out loud, 'You are here with me right now.' One sentence. Then carry on. That is enough.

What would change for you today if you believed that God was as close to you as the noise around you?

God, I am overwhelmed and I need You here, not somewhere far off. Be my strength right now, in this room, in this moment. I am leaning on You. Amen.
