Why do I keep making the same mistake?
By Ricardo Zaal, Founder and Lead Pastor ·

You are back here again. Same pattern, same morning of picking yourself up, same quiet shame that says you should be further along by now. It feels like proof that nothing in you is changing. But the struggle itself, the trying and falling and trying again, that is not evidence of failure. It is the work. God says so:
"Knowing this, that the trying of your faith worketh patience. But let patience have her perfect work, that ye may be perfect and entire, wanting nothing."
- James 1:3-4 (KJV)
Before tonight, find one moment from this week where you chose differently, even once, even small. Write it in your phone's notes, one line. Say out loud, 'God, that was real.' Because it was, and he saw it.
What if the repetition you are ashamed of is the very place your strength is being built?
God, I am tired of this loop. Help me trust that what is happening in me is real work, even when I cannot see the result. Hold me through it. Amen.
