What happens when you stop pretending to be someone you're not?
Pretoria North · 29 May 2026

"For what is a man profited, if he shall gain the whole world, and lose his own soul? or what shall a man give in exchange for his soul?"
- Matthew 16:26 (KJV)
You’ve mastered the art of pretending - haven’t you? Every nod and smile fits the scene, but the mirror tells a different story. It’s a lot easier to blend in than face the truth of feeling vanished.
Here’s the reality. You’re paying a price. Every day spent as someone you’re not chips away at your spirit. Familiarity has a grip, and the discomfort you know feels safer than the unknown. The cycle loops, comfortable in its chains.
But what if there’s another way? “For what is a man profited, if he shall gain the whole world, and lose his own soul?” (Matthew 16:26) This world wasn’t built for you to fit in - it was built for you to stand out. Different doesn’t mean wrong. It means you.
So here’s the question - who would you be if you let the world see you without the mask?
