Why am I so exhausted from trying to keep everyone happy? - Fountain of Grace International

"For do I now persuade men, or God? or do I seek to please men? for if I yet pleased men, I should not be the servant of Christ."

- Galatians 1:10 (KJV)
You know the weight of keeping things looking right. The careful words chosen for the right ears. The version of yourself that fits the room and keeps the peace. It is exhausting work, and you have been doing it for so long that you might not even know where the real you ends and the performance begins. But here is what I see: you are tired because you are carrying two lives at once. One that is true, and one that is acceptable. The gap between them is where your peace went. You have been so afraid of what people will think that you have stopped asking what God thinks, and what you actually need. Listen to this: "For am I now seeking the favour of men, or of God? or am I striving to please men? for if I yet pleased men, I should not be the servant of Christ." Paul wrote that because he knew the sickness of it. He also knew the cure. When you stop performing for people and start living for God, you do not lose approval. You lose the ones who needed your mask, and you find the ones who needed your truth. You can put down that version now. The one you have been carrying is not your burden to keep. God is strong enough to handle who you actually are, and He loves that person more than any performance ever could. Blessings - Fountain of Grace International
