Why do I feel let down by everyone in my life?

You gave again. You showed up, you checked in, you held the thing together, and they hardly noticed. It sits in your chest like a stone. You are not wrong to feel it. But here is what nobody tells you about that verse everyone quotes about loving your neighbour: the word 'thyself' is in there too. God did not say pour yourself out until there is nothing left.

"And the second is like unto it, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself."

Before tonight, do one small thing for yourself with the same care you would do it for someone you love. Make the tea. Take the walk. Sit in the quiet for ten minutes. Not as a reward, just as a reminder that you count too.

God, I am tired of running dry. Teach me to love others without losing myself in the process. Show me that caring for who you made me to be is not selfish, it is faithful. Amen.
