Why am I so drained from always helping everyone?

You said yes again this morning. Maybe before your first coffee. Someone needed a lift, a loan, a listening ear, and you were there because that is who you are. But tonight, sitting in the quiet, you feel scraped out. Empty. Not because you did anything wrong. It is just that nobody asked if you were okay. Nobody filled your tank back up. Jesus says this to you, right now, today:

"Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest."

- Matthew 11:28 (KJV)

Before you respond to the next message asking something of you today, sit still for sixty seconds. Not to figure anything out. Just to breathe and let yourself be the one who receives for once. Tell Jesus, out loud or in your head, one thing that is weighing on you. One thing. That is the whole action.

What would it feel like to let someone else carry you for a change?

Lord, I am tired in a way sleep does not fix. I bring all of it to you right now. Fill what has been emptied out of me today, because I cannot keep giving from nothing. Amen.
