Why do I keep picking fights over stupid little things? - Fountain of Grace International

"Be still, and know that I am God: I will be exalted among the heathen, I will be exalted in the earth."

- Psalm 46:10 (KJV)
Sharp words over breakfast again? That kettle seems to heat more than just water, doesn't it? We both know it's rarely about the cereal left on the counter. It's about what’s left undone inside. But let's stick to the small stuff because it's easier, right? It's familiar. Fighting over toast crumbs feels safer than facing the storm in your soul. So you dance around what's wrong instead of naming it - picking the wrong battles to avoid the real war. That’s the story, isn't it? The comfort of familiar pain is an old friend, worn but known. Change demands courage. Staying the same demands nothing. But here's a shift - "Be still, and know that I am God." Being still isn’t passive. It's active engagement with truth. It’s confronting the chaos within with holy reverence. Pausing before you speak. Pausing to hear what you won't admit even to yourself. When you pick a fight today, ask - what am I really avoiding? Or keep ignoring. Just don't pretend the toast is really the problem. Blessings - Fountain of Grace International
