Why do I feel like my whole life is slipping away from me?

You are somewhere in the middle of your life, maybe stuck in traffic on the N1 at 7am, or staring at a ceiling that has heard too many of your quiet worries. And somewhere under all of it sits this fear. That it is going too fast. That you are losing more than you are gaining. That the best of it has already passed you by. God has a word for that fear. David wrote it at the end of the hardest chapter of his life, and it sounds like a man who finally exhaled:

"Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life: and I will dwell in the house of the LORD for ever."

Pick one year from your past, the hardest one you can name. Sit with it for two minutes today, on your lunch break or in the car. Find one thing that came through it with you. Write it as one line on your phone. That is God's signature on a page you thought was ruined.

Lord, I have been so afraid of losing time that I stopped noticing You in it. Show me today where Your goodness has already followed me. I trust You with the rest of my days. Amen.
