Everyone's Rejected You. Here's What That Really Means About Your Worth
You've been thrown away, rejected, called a failure. But what others believe about you and what's actually true about you are two completely different things.

When everyone has rejected you, does that mean you're actually worthless?

Two Kinds of Rejection
There are two people in this story. One person throws stones at others, writing them off as useless, drunk, worthless, or irredeemable. The other person has been written off and is starting to believe it about themselves. Both need to hear the same truth: rejection by humans is not final, and it is not a true measure of your value.
The person throwing stones often does it from a glass house. You criticize someone for their worst moment while ignoring your own private struggles. You reject someone from your family or your church, not realizing what that rejection actually does to them. That person goes home and drinks not because they are a drunkard, but because the place they thought might accept them just threw them away.
Jesus modeled this in John 8 when the religious crowd wanted to stone a woman caught in adultery. He didn't defend her behavior. He asked who among them had no sin. And as he asked, he probably wrote their names in the sand. The point was not that no one had sinned. The point was that throwing stones while living in a glass house is not justice-it is hypocrisy.
The Lie You Accepted About Yourself
When someone calls you useless, you may have accepted that word as truth. But people only see a closeup view of you. Imagine a camera zooming in on someone's face. The closer it gets, the less you can see of the whole picture. From one foot away, all you see is their face. You cannot see what is behind them, what strengths they have in other areas, what contributions they make where you are not looking.
God sees what pastors call a bird's eye view. From that vantage point, He sees all areas of your life. He knows you are useful somewhere, even if the people who rejected you never looked long enough to find out where. You may show love differently than others. You may have gifts that operate in places those critics never visit. That does not make you useless. It makes you real.
The Scripture is clear in 1 Corinthians 12: 'If the foot should say, Because I'm not the hand, I do not belong to the body, would it therefore not be a part of the body?' You were not designed to be a hand. You may be a foot, an ear, an eye. The body of Christ needs all of them. Reject the word that does not align with who you actually are. Say out loud: I am not useless. I am useful in the kingdom of God.
The Toe That Should Have Healed
A man broke his big toe playing sports. It swelled, turned blue, caused him pain. Instead of waiting for antibiotics and anti-inflammatories to work, he demanded the doctor cut it off. He wanted to play his game in three months, and the temporary pain felt unbearable. The doctor warned him, but the man insisted. So the doctor cut it off.
But something went wrong during the healing. An infection spread from where the toe was removed. It infected his leg. Now the doctor asked him, 'Should I cut off your leg too?' The man finally understood: his rush to remove the pain had created a much worse problem. When you reject someone because of a temporary struggle, you may be removing someone the body needs. You may be causing damage far worse than the original wound.
This is what happens in families and churches. Someone is struggling with addiction, divorce, failure, or shame. Instead of bringing them medicine-grace, time, community, healing-you amputate them. You write them off. You tell them they do not belong. And then you wonder why they spiral deeper. The body of Christ is one organism. What you remove in rejection, you rob from yourself.
Your Name Is Written on God's Hand
In Psalm 8, the writer asks: 'Who is man that you have thought about him?' This is the moment of awe. God, who is infinite and high and lifted up, has actually thought about you. Not just thought about you in passing. God wrote your name. Not just wrote it like you write something you might erase. God tattooed your name on the palm of His hand. Isaiah 49:16 says exactly this: 'I have engraved you on the palms of my hands.'
This means your rejection by humans does not erase your identity with God. When God lifts His hands, your name is there. Permanent. Indelible. Known. You are the apple of His eye. You are a peculiar people, set apart by Him, not cast aside. The real question is not whether others see your worth. The question is whether you will accept God's verdict about you or cling to the rejection of people who only saw a closeup view and called it the whole truth.
Everything Pastor Ricardo prophesied in that service points to this single reality: wherever you have been rejected, God will reverse it. Not because you earned it through behavior change alone, though that matters. But because God does not write anyone off. He does not amputate His children because of their struggles. He brings healing. He brings restoration. He brings people back into the palace after they have been thrown into the pit.
What You Do Now Matters
If you have been rejecting others, stop. Do not throw stones from a glass house. Do not write off the corner stone that might be the very thing holding up the whole structure. The drunk person who walks into church might be the one whose testimony saves someone from suicide. The divorced person might be the one who counsels someone through their marriage crisis. The failures are often the ones who can help others stand.
If you have internalized rejection, refuse it. Do not accept the label. Do not live as though other people's closeup view is God's complete perspective. You are more than your worst moment. You are more than your current situation. You are more than their judgment. The infection of shame is killing you because you keep listening to voices that are not God. 1 Corinthians 12:4-6 reminds us: there are different gifts, different services, different workings-but the same God works in all. Your gift may not look like theirs. That does not make it inferior. It makes it essential.
This week, make one decision. Decide whose voice you will believe about who you are. Will it be the voice of the critic, the rejector, the person who saw only your flaws? Or will it be the voice of Jesus, who sees everything and still calls you by name, still writes your name on His hand, still refuses to throw you away? That decision will change everything.

Start believing Him about who you are instead of believing the people who only saw a snapshot and called it your whole story.

Is it wrong to reject someone who is struggling or has hurt me?
There is a difference between setting a boundary and writing someone off. A boundary protects you from ongoing harm. Writing someone off means amputating them from your life permanently. In the parable of the toe, the man cut off his toe because of temporary pain-and it caused far worse damage. Ask yourself: Is this person in a season of struggle that could heal with medicine (grace, time, support), or are they a genuine ongoing threat? A person who is drunk might be drowning because the church rejected them. A person who failed might need restoration, not rejection. Judge carefully and sparingly. Remember that you live in a glass house too.

For the English people I want to say this way That when you say to somebody You are busy throwing away your life This is the person that I'm talking to this morning The one that says to somebody Hey Why is it every time that When I see you You are like this When I see you You are like that This morning I want to speak to somebody this morning Understanding that There's two kind of people That I want to talk to this morning I want to speak to the one person That is saying Maraye, why do you throw away your life? Number one So the first person, number one Is telling somebody You are throwing your life away Then the second person I want to speak to Is the one that is spoken to The one that is spoken to So the one that is spoken to I want to speak to that person That says Every time whenever somebody says Hey, why do you throw away your life? So the reason why I'm asking this question is that Look at it this way Whenever you go to a person And every time you give them Mere negative words Every negative word speaking into the person's life Is something that the devil is taking And take that message into the person's ears And whenever they listen to that They kept on saying They keep on saying to me I'm useless I'm a nobody I am a drunkard I am a Somebody who can't think I'm dumb I'm stupid, I'm not clever All these words whenever you say to the person Did you ever think what it does to that person? Because this morning I want to speak to you I want to ask you nicely Have you ever think Of the person that you wrote off? Whenever that person has been written off by men Did you ask did God write off that person as well? Come on I want you to answer the question And answer the question nicely Answer the question within yourself And say Whenever I wrote off that child of mine I said to that child You wrote off that child to say I don't want you in my house anymore But did you ask the question Did God write off the same person? Or is it only your feelings And how you see That is written the people off at the time? This morning I want to speak to you and ask you Have you ever think That you might have been the one That caused that person's death? Are you the one that causes that person's death? Because by written By you being written off a lot of people A lot of people are sitting on the street Not knowing where to go Not knowing what to do Because you have written off the person So this morning I want to come and speak to you One and one and say to you You remember the day when you said to that person You are just a mere drunkard And every time whenever the person is taking up a beer bottle They say You said I'm a drunkard let me show him how I can drink So this morning I want to speak to that person I want you to take up your own life And throw the stone at the one that doesn't have anything I want you this morning to take up your own life Take an introspection into your life And ask yourself If there would have been somebody who has at fault Who can throw the first stone? Because this morning I want to ask you My question is I want to ask you How can you say that other people have grown away Because of what you went through in their lives? But have you noticed that the same person That you wrote off Somebody is loving that person so much That they are actually the ones that take care of them Now I want to speak to a specific group of people A specific group of people Now the specific group of people I want to speak to this morning Or I want to speak about this morning Is a group of people that is calling themselves Church people So I want to speak to that church people Come on church people are you in the house? To look at it this way If I come closer to you This is a person Whatever is behind this hand This hand If this is a person The closer this hand is coming to this person The more you can't see behind the hand This is how people are seeing you So I want you to look at it this way When I come closer to this camera For those of you that sits here When I come closer to you The only thing that you can see Is my face But when I move back and ask you What is behind me You can't see So therefore when I move away from you Is only time whenever you can I can see what we call a bird's eye view Is the only time I can see a bird's eye view Come on Jesus, come on Jesus Come on Jesus Come on Jesus So whenever you are speaking to somebody Or whenever somebody is speaking to you Did they only see the thing that they saw But have not been seeing the bird's eye view of God Because whenever God sees from the top He sees all areas of your life But you as a person Knowing that I am better in this area I might not show affection when I love Like the way you come on And keep on holding and hugging and kissing I might be showing it in a different way By leaving you a piece of rose Just now and then But I don't kiss you like the others are kissing you Does it not show the same That I still love you as well Do you show the same love to your wife As the one that you show to your kids You cannot be showing the same kind of love To your wife as the same as your kids Because if I can tell you now For argument's sake Do you French kiss your kids How no How no You cannot do the same way to your kids The way you love your wife That's not the right way to showing it So why do you accept Whenever they say to you You are useless Knowing that you are useful in another area Don't accept whatever people are telling you Don't accept whenever people are saying to you Who you are Knowing that you are better than what they are calling you So this morning I want you to know I am not finished writing You cannot throw me away I don't throw myself away It is for a reason that I throw myself away For a reason that Whenever I sit with other people Then I want I don't want them to know what is my strong side My strong points My weak points they always see They always see my weak points They always see my weak points They always see my weak points They always see my weak points But have you ever asked the question What about my strong points Have you not seen it Because this morning I saw you Because this morning I speak to you That has been leaving them To say the words to you You are not a useless person You are a useful person You might have seen drunk the other day But whenever the Spirit of God is coming upon you You shall be going out And spread the word So this morning I want to speak to you And say to you That it's no use of you Saying or keep on saying That I am useless Come on, come on, come on I want to speak to that person I want to speak to that person That is actually saying to you These words So this morning I want to speak to you This morning and I want to say to you That whenever somebody is giving you A word That is not in congruence In congruency with who you are Whenever somebody is speaking to you A word That is not in congruence In congruency with who you are Whenever somebody is speaking to you a word and is not incongruent with who you are, reject the word, reject it, reject it, reject it. Say, I am not a useless, I am useful in the kingdom of God. I'm not useless, I'm useful wherever I go. People see my worth, people see my worth. People see my worth. So why are you calling yourself what they are calling you? Have you not realized God is calling you that you are the apple of His eyes? Have you not noticed it even, that God is calling you the apple of His eye? I'm not going to leave you. I'm not going to leave you. I'm not throwing me away. I'm not throwing me, I'm not rejecting myself. I don't write myself off. I'm just going through a situation because this is what happened. Whenever somebody is going through certain things, it is better for them to be at the feet of Jesus. Because being at the feet of Jesus is actually where things are starting to change. Changing, things is changing. Things is changing. When the Lord is coming in faith, everything will change. Lord, I want to speak to you this morning. Basically, I want to speak to you this morning. Jesus, Jesus, Jesus, Jesus, I want to speak to you this morning. I want to speak to you this morning. As a mere person, the thought, life has bring me down because of what others are saying. Others have rejected me, but God has not been rejecting me this morning. God has not been rejecting me this morning. God has given me everything concerning life. Well, First, I want to read a scripture for you. No, no, no, before I read the scripture, Let me give you let me give you a let me explain a story to you now when I tell you the story once once upon a time there was a guy who was very active when I say active I'm talking about somebody who is very good in sports so whenever he speak he will be on the field playing soccer if it's rugby he's there if it's whatever is there then one day it so much that he kicked a ball and while he was kicking the ball his big toe broke and the toe started swelling and because the toe is starting to swell it become blue like literally literally blue blue and the swelling makes him not to be able to put on his shoes so as he was actually walking without shoes one day he said but I can't take this anymore this toe has been giving me so many problems I want to take it out so what he does he went to the doctor and said to the doctor doctor it's been for too long that this toe has been swollen like this please cut it off so that I can go back to my sports and the doctor is saying to him but this is just a small matter you just have to drink your antibiotics antibiotics you just have to keep on using anti-inflammatories it will heal one day the guy thinking of him going to have a game within the next let's say three months just making an example it might be shorter time he decided no doctor cut off my toe cut off my toe and the doctor not being able to say anything because it is this guy's own life he decided let me listen to this guy let me take off this toe that has been bothering this guy so much but going against the doctor's values the doctor keep on saying remember I if I cut off this you won't be able to do certain things please let us just wait for another month or two the guy being adamant cut it off cut it off in cutting off the toe something went wrong and the guy being a player not a let's say a sport active person the the toe has not been healing as yet so he decided he's going to keep on practicing practicing practicing and in the practice something happened that he actually got an infection that is starting to spread in his leg okay thank you so as the infection spread in his leg it tend to give his leg a problem so he went to the doctor and asked the doctor doctor what is happening now my leg is turning so blue the first thing the doctor is saying saying to him so should I cut it off as well and the doctor waited the doctor waited for the answer he wait he wait he wait and he wait the guy sitting there saying to himself that your sorry what is the same thing happened that happened to my toe I just wanted to cut off the toe I just wanted to cut off the pain that was there I just wanted to cut off the infection that was there and I caused us another infection the immediate thing is to him to say back to the doctor doctor no what if he can heal this is how you and a person is going through life making decisions upon somebody else's life do you not know that you are the body of christ I'm going to my scripture in in in second in first Corinthians now now in first Corinthians it says it this way now about the spiritual gifts the special endowments of spiritual of supernatural energy present I do not want you to be misinformed you know that when you were hidden you were led off other idols and could not speak habitually as impulse directed and whenever the occasion might arise therefore I want you to understand that no one speak under the power and influence of the holy spirit of god can ever say jesus because and no one can really say jesus my lord except by and under the power of an influence of the holy spirit so no one can say jesus now there are distinctive varieties and distributions of endowments give extra ordinary power distinguish certain christians due to the power of divine grace and operation in their soul by the holy spirit and they were right but the holy spirit remains the same and there are distinctive varieties of service and ministration but it is the same lord himself or who is served so the same things that you are rejecting is the same thing that god is using do you know something that if somebody comes into your church the person walked through areas that you might not be walking to you cannot reach there and therefore it is imperative to understand that this morning if you are a person that judge others just know that you cannot judge somebody unless you look into your life and show perfection into your life because the bible says it so nicely going on in the same scripture first Corinthians 12 coming um let's sorry let's let's let's go to 19 but if if the whole were all single organ where would the body be okay let me go a little bit back let me go back to 12 verse 14 verse 14 for the body does not consist of one or organ but of many if the food should say because i'm not the hand i do not belong to the body would it be therefore not a part of the body if the ears should say because i'm not the eye i do not belong to the body would it would it be therefore not a part of the body if the whole body were an eye where would the sense come off so do you understand what i'm trying to bring out this morning that you as a mere person cannot judge another in the body of christ because the same sinner that you saw this morning walk into your church being drunk is the same person that have a connection Heavenly Father, I pray that this morning, as we are standing here, Father God, let your Holy Spirit be the one that is evident in somebody's life this morning. In the name of Jesus, remove them from a place that you don't want them to be. Remove them from a place that they also feel like it's not the right place to be in the mighty name of Jesus Christ our Lord and Savior. I come now, Father God, and I bring this service back to you now, Father God. You have given this service to us. I put it back into your hands. You said your words will not come back void. So therefore, as your word went out, Father God, touch those hands, touch those hearts, touch those minds, touch those feet that has been listening to your word.
