Why do I always compare myself to others?

You open Instagram for thirty seconds and suddenly your Monday feels like a failure. Someone got the promotion. Someone is in Cape Town. Someone's kids look clean and happy. You know none of that is the full story, but knowing it doesn't stop the sting. Here is the thing: you were never meant to run someone else's race. God says it plainly.

"For we dare not make ourselves of the number, or compare ourselves with some that commend themselves: but they measuring themselves by themselves, and comparing themselves among themselves, are not wise."

At some point today, when the comparison hits, write one sentence on your phone. Not a list, just one. Something real that is yours: a person, a roof, a thing you did last week. Read it back. One true thing is enough to change the direction of a thought.

What would it feel like to measure your day only against where you were a year ago?

God, I am tired of measuring my life against everyone else's highlight reel. Help me to see what is mine and be at peace with it. You made me on purpose. Amen.
