Why do I compare myself to others so much?

Why do I compare myself to others so much? - Fountain of Grace International

You are standing in the queue at Pick n Pay, phone in your hand, and someone from school just posted about their new car. Or the promotion. Or the holiday. And something quietly deflates in you. Not jealousy exactly. More like a question: why am I not further along? That question is a trap, and it is built from borrowed measurements. You cannot win a race you were never entered in. God knows that, and he said it plainly:

"But let every man prove his own work, and then shall he have rejoicing in himself alone, and not in another."

- Galatians 6:4 (KJV)

Tonight, before you put your phone down, write one sentence in your notes app. One thing you did this week that was yours alone. Maybe you held something together. Maybe you just kept going on a Tuesday that nearly broke you. Name it. Say thank you out loud for it.

If you stopped measuring your life against someone else's highlights for one full day, what might you notice about your own?

God, I have been using the wrong ruler. Help me look honestly at my own life and find what is good in it. What you have given me is enough to work with. Amen.
