Why do I feel like I am never quite enough?

You finish the day and somewhere, quietly, the thought creeps in. You should have done more. Said it better. Been further along by now. That feeling is so ordinary, so common, and it lies to you every single time. God was not looking at your output today and shaking his head. Listen to what he actually says about you.

"For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus unto good works, which God hath before ordained that we should walk in them."

Sometime today, write your own name on a piece of paper or in your phone notes, and next to it write this: 'God's workmanship.' Not your job title. Not your mistakes. Just that. Let it sit there and tell you something true before you sleep.

Father, I am tired of feeling like I fall short. Remind me today that you made me, and you do not make mistakes. Let that be enough to carry me through this Thursday. Amen.
