How do I stop being too scared to start something new? - Fountain of Grace International

"For God hath not given us the spirit of fear; but of power, and of love, and of a sound mind."

- 2 Timothy 1:7 (KJV)
You're waiting for permission you don't need. Six times you've stood at the edge of that thing - the business, the conversation, the creative work, the change. Six times you've stepped back because you didn't feel ready. And you've dressed it up as wisdom. Prudence. Waiting on God. But it's neither. It's fear wearing a sensible coat. Here's what's actually happening: you've confused confidence with competence. You think you need to feel brave before you act brave. You think readiness comes before the work. It doesn't. Every person who ever did anything difficult felt the same knot in their stomach you feel now. They just started anyway. And the confidence came after, not before. "Therefore take no thought for the morrow," Matthew says. Not because tomorrow doesn't matter. Because today is where you learn who you are. The thing you're holding - this waiting, this preparation without progress - it feels safe. But safety that costs you six attempts is actually a cage. Let it go. Start messy. Start uncertain. Start now. Confidence is built in the doing, not in the delay. What are you actually afraid they'll discover about you if you begin? Blessings - Fountain of Grace International
