Why am I so scared of everything?

You know the feeling. You are standing at the edge of something, the new job application, the difficult conversation, the thing you have been putting off for months, and your chest tightens. Maybe the waiting has stretched longer than you expected. Perhaps somewhere along the way, fear started making the decisions without you noticing. You are not weak for feeling it. Fear is loud, and it is convincing, and it lies. But here is what God says into it:

"For God hath not given us the spirit of fear; but of power, and of love, and of a sound mind."

- 2 Timothy 1:7 (KJV)

Pick one thing you have been avoiding, just one. Write its name on a piece of paper right now, before you leave the house this morning. Then do the smallest possible first step before tonight, send the message, make the call, open the document. One step is enough.

God, I am tired of letting fear win. You did not give me this dread, so I am giving it back to you today. Help me take one step forward with the power and the clear mind you have already placed in me. Amen.
