How do I stop losing my mind while I wait?
Pretoria North · 9 August 2026

Waiting is not passive. It is actually one of the hardest things a person can do, especially when you have tried everything, prayed everything, and still nothing has shifted. The mind starts running loops. You second-guess yourself, replay the situation, and wonder if God even remembers your name. That internal noise is not weakness. It is just what happens when we carry something heavy without knowing when it ends. Here is what God says into that exact place:
"Be still, and know that I am God: I will be exalted among the heathen, I will be exalted in the earth."
- Psalm 46:10 (KJV)
Today, set a timer for three minutes. Sit somewhere quiet, close your eyes, and say nothing. No asking, no listing, no bargaining. Just let yourself be in the room with God. When a worry thought comes, let it pass and return to this: He is God and you are not. Three minutes. Do it before the day gets loud.
Lord, my mind goes to hard places when nothing moves. Teach me to be still without switching off hope. I trust that You are God, even here, even now. Amen.
