What if I start something but can't keep it going?
Pretoria North · 6 June 2026

"For God hath not given us the spirit of fear; but of power, and of love, and of a sound mind."
- 2 Timothy 1:7 (KJV)
You're not afraid of the starting line. You're terrified of what happens after you cross it.
The real fear isn't failure. It's success that requires maintenance. It's building something and then discovering you don't have what it takes to keep it standing. So you circle the thing six times, finding new reasons why next month is better. It feels like wisdom. It's actually a different kind of cowardice.
Here's what shifts: You've been waiting to feel ready. But readiness is a lie you tell yourself when you're already strong enough. "For God hath not given us the spirit of fear; but of power, and of love, and of a sound mind." That power isn't for the starting. It's for the maintaining. You don't get it before you need it. You get it exactly when you're in it.
The thing you're supposed to start isn't asking for a perfect version of you that never existed. It's asking for the version standing here right now - flawed, tired, real - willing to figure it out as you go.
What would you attempt if you stopped waiting for the strength to keep it, and started trusting the strength to learn how?
