Why does my life keep collapsing?

You swept up the pieces once. Then it fell again. And somewhere between the first collapse and this one, you stopped being surprised and started being scared that this is just how your life goes. It is not. There is a difference between a life falling apart and a life being taken apart and rebuilt. God is not watching you struggle from a distance. He is in the rubble with you, and he says this:

"And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to his purpose."

- Romans 8:28 (KJV)

Before tonight, pick up one broken thing from this season. Not to fix it. Just to name it out loud, to yourself or to one person you trust. Say what it was. Say what it cost you. Then ask, quietly, what it might have changed in you. That small act of naming is where the rebuilding usually begins.

If this hard stretch has already changed something in you, even one thing, what would you say it is?

God, I do not understand all of this. But I choose to believe you are building something I cannot see yet. Hold what I cannot hold right now. Amen.
