Why does holding a grudge hurt me more than them? - Fountain of Grace International

You have been carrying it for a while now. Maybe months. Maybe longer. The person who hurt you has probably moved on, and you are still up at 2am replaying what they said or did. That is not weakness. That is what a wound does when it has nowhere to go. God knows the weight of what you are holding, and he is not standing at a distance waiting for you to sort yourself out first.

"Cast thy burden upon the LORD, and he shall sustain thee: he shall never suffer the righteous to be moved."

- Psalm 55:22 (KJV)

Find one quiet minute today, maybe in the car, or the bathroom before the day swallows you whole. Say the name of the person out loud. Then say: 'Lord, I hand this person to you. I cannot fix what happened, but I trust you to carry what I cannot.' That is enough. You do not have to feel it yet for it to count.

Lord, I am tired of carrying this. I cannot put it down on my own, so I am asking you to take it. Sustain me today like you promised. Amen.
