Why does everything take so long?

You are in the same place you were six months ago. Same room, maybe. Same waiting. And there is a particular kind of tired that comes not from working too hard, but from watching other people seem to move forward while your life sits still. That feeling is real. But still is not the same as stuck. God was speaking to people locked in exile in Babylon, no map home, no idea when, and this is what he said to them.

"For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, saith the LORD, thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give you an expected end."

Before tonight, write one sentence in your phone notes. Finish this: 'One thing that is quietly changing in me is...' Do not overthink it. One sentence. What comes up is what is forming in you right now, even if you cannot see the shape of it yet.

What if the waiting itself is doing something in you that the arriving never could?

Lord, I have mistaken slow for stopped. I do not need to see the whole road today, just enough to take the next step. You know the end from here. That is enough. Amen.
