You pray the same thing every day and wonder why
Pretoria North · 5 July 2026

There are mornings when the words just do not come. You sit down to pray and it feels like you are talking to the ceiling, repeating yourself, going through the motions. That is not a sign that your faith is broken. It is actually one of the most honest places a person can reach with God. And right into that honesty, God sends something practical and kind.
"Likewise the Spirit also helpeth our infirmities: for we know not what we should pray for as we ought: but the Spirit itself maketh intercession for us with groanings which cannot be uttered."
- Romans 8:26 (KJV)
Today, when you pray, try this: say out loud, 'Holy Spirit, I do not know how to pray about this. You pray for me.' Then sit quietly for one minute. You do not have to produce anything. Let that minute be your prayer. It counts.
What would change if you believed that your stumbling, wordless prayers were already being translated perfectly on your behalf?
Father, I am glad you do not need polished words from me. Teach me to trust that your Spirit carries what I cannot say. Today I hand you my silence as much as my words. Amen.
