You're About to Quit Right Before Everything Changes

The Donkey in the Well

A farmer hears his donkey screaming all night from an abandoned well. He calls neighbors. They try for hours. Nothing works. Finally, someone says the kindest thing: let's stop its suffering. Let's bury it. The owner, heartbroken, agrees. They start shoveling dirt into the well.

But something unexpected happens. Each shovelful the donkey receives, it shakes off and steps up. Dirt after dirt, step after step. The very thing meant to crush it becomes the platform it stands on. The donkey keeps rising until it walks out of the well entirely.

This is not a fairy tale. This is your life. When you stop giving up and start shifting your strategy, the same pressure that looked like burial becomes the soil beneath your feet.

The Disciples Fished All Night and Caught Nothing

Simon Peter and the disciples worked the entire night. Professional fishermen. Their boat. Their nets. Their strength. They caught zero fish. By dawn, they were exhausted and ready to quit. They had earned the right to give up.

Then Jesus showed up on the beach. He didn't criticize them for failing. He didn't mock their empty nets. He asked one question: 'Have you caught anything?' When they said no, He gave one instruction: 'Cast your net on the right side of the boat.' One change. One shift in strategy. One willingness to try something different.

They obeyed. The net became so full of fish they couldn't haul it into the boat. Not a few fish. Not enough to survive. An overflow. An abundance. The kind of blessing that makes you forget the entire night of struggle.

Giving Up Becomes a Habit

Every time you quit, you train yourself to be a quitter. You don't just surrender that one goal. You surrender your confidence. You plant a seed that says 'I cannot do hard things.' The next time obstacles come-and they will-you're already halfway out the door.

Your business struggles? You want to quit. Your boss rejects your idea? You want to quit. Your spouse criticizes you? You want to quit. Your loan application gets denied? You want to quit. But what if you treated each no as information, not a death sentence?

When a lender says no because of three problems, don't give up. Go back and fix those three problems. Then ask again. When someone you love pulls away, don't disappear. Change your strategy. Show up differently. Try again. Every small persistence builds the confidence that carries you through the next storm.

Jesus Doesn't Come in the Day. He Comes in Your Morning.

The disciples' morning came at dawn after a long, dark night. Your morning might come at 3 a.m. when you stop fighting alone and finally ask God for help. Your morning might come when you change tactics instead of changing your mind. Your morning might come the moment you decide that giving up is not an option.

Jesus asked the disciples one question: 'Cast your net on the right side.' That's all. He didn't do the fishing. He didn't guarantee success. He asked them to adjust their strategy and obey. When they did, He showed up in the abundance. That's how God works. He doesn't rescue you from the work. He shows up in the work and multiplies what you do.

Your sickness has lasted years. Your finances have been tight for seasons. Your marriage has been cold. That long night was real. But the morning is coming. And in that morning, God doesn't give you a little help. He gives you abundance. Pressed down. Shaken together. Running over.

What God Is Asking You Right Now

Stop looking at your circumstances as final. They're not. They're information. Your business didn't grow the way you planned? God asks: Have you asked me for strategy? Have you changed your approach? Your marriage is distant? God asks: Have you told them you love them? Have you tried a different way to connect? Your health won't improve? God asks: Have you asked the elders to anoint you? Have you stood on my word?

God doesn't demand. He asks. He respects your choice. But He's inviting you into a different way forward. Not your way alone. Not more of what didn't work. A new strategy. A shift in perspective. A decision to stay when everything says leave.

This morning, your breakthrough might be one conversation away. One prayer away. One decision to change your method instead of abandon your dream. The question isn't whether you can do it. The question is whether you'll ask God to show you how.

Never Give Up Is Not Inspiration. It's Obedience.

Giving up feels wise when you're tired. It feels kind to yourself. It feels like accepting reality. But accepting the false version of reality is rebellion. God says weeping endures for a night. He didn't say the night never ends. He said joy comes in the morning. You don't get to decide when the morning arrives. You get to decide whether you'll still be standing when it does.

The donkey didn't know the dirt was lifting it higher. The disciples didn't know the morning would bring abundance. You don't know what's one shift away. What you know is this: every time you kept going, you learned something. Every time you tried again, you got stronger. Every time you asked God instead of just pushing alone, things moved.

Your breakthrough is not coming because you deserve it or because you've suffered enough. It's coming because you're learning to partner with God instead of fight alone. It's coming because you're willing to change strategy instead of change your dream. It's coming because you refuse to give Satan the satisfaction of making you believe you're a quitter. You're not. You're becoming the kind of person who stands. And when you stand, God shows up in abundance.

Heavenly Father, I come to you in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior. Now the title of my message this morning is to never, ever, ever, ever give up. The title of the message, you will understand that this is something that we, not just as Christians, but everybody as a human being at some point has a time where they actually said, I give up, I give up. Because whenever you give up, you give the right to somebody else to take up what you were supposed to do or what you were supposed to go for. So therefore I come to you now and I'm telling you that whenever you want to do something or wherever you want to embark on a journey, the aim is not to give up this morning. The aim is to go towards your dreams, whatever dream that you have. I'm just making an example. If you dream of having a car one day, regardless of whatever car you start off with, as long as you know the aim is to get a car. So if you start off just by having something that is costing you about the six thousand rent, it's already towards your dream of maybe want to be want to have a Mercedes C whatever 180. I'm just making an example one day. So this is the reason never to give up. Once you give up on your dreams, you start doubting yourself and therefore when you doubt yourself, you cannot go forward. So therefore, as I'm speaking to you this morning, the aim is to start and never give up. Because once you start and start growing from one place to another to another, you end up having confidence in yourself. And the more confidence that you have in yourself, the more that you understand that you can do it. Because if you give up once, it will become a norm for you to give up. So I'm just making an example this morning. This story, I don't know what is the what is the origin. Where's the origin of this story coming from? But as I'm going into this, I want to give you the I want to give you a story that let me just say it's a it's a story that is anonymous because I don't know the start of the story. I just want to give you that story. All right. Let me start off like this. All right. So now let me start off with this story. Picture this. One day, a farmer actually realized that as he was awake at night time, he just hear his donkey screaming. And this is the time where the donkey normally is asleep. And by this time, this donkey has been screaming for a long time. The farmer not knowing what to do, because this donkey is actually disturbing his sleep. But as the donkey is disturbing his sleep, he realized that this donkey is not like normally the donkey will just go once. That's it. And the donkey will be done. But this night, the donkey kept on going on, going on, going on, and he didn't understand what is happening there. Then he wake up and go on, took his tractor because it sounded very far and he drank off. Go and look for the donkey. But as the sound become louder and louder, he realized. But this donkey is actually coming from it's coming from the well where they normally get water from. And that well has been dried up for quite some time. And this well is quite far from them. Now, as he come closer and closer and closer, he realized the donkey is in the well. Now, as it was just about to become daylight, he entered into the well. As he saw the donkey down there, he didn't know what to do. And as he knows, no, I have some neighbors, my neighbors is always there to help me. What he does, he call up on his neighbors and said to the neighbors, let us get this donkey out. And as they were trying, they were trying for hours and hours and hours and nothing could help them to get the donkey out. They ended up saying, but what can we do? Then somebody said, look, I think we might as well give up. I think this is the person speaking, not the owner of the donkey, but another person saying, I think we should be giving up this donkey. We won't be getting this donkey out of here. So let us then rather bury the donkey and take him out of his grief. And they started saying, no, I agree. I agree. Everybody agree. Everybody agree. And the owner is like, I give up. Let's just do it with the pain in his heart. So painful for him because he knows that this donkey has been serving him very long time. But the problem is also at the same time, you feel like that he has been he's been having this problem with this donkey for far too long. To get stuck in there. And he doesn't want the donkey to suffer anymore because the longer the donkey will be in there, the more you become hungry and things will not be working out. And he decided, no, let's do it. And they started shuffling, shuffling, shuffling, shuffling. And after some time, somebody realized. But every time we put this scent in, the donkey became quiet and quiet and quiet. After the first time, he was like screaming and in anger or something. But the donkey become quiet and they thought maybe the donkey is dead now. But they decide, let us just put more. And the more scent that they put into the well, then somebody realized. But yes, the donkey's ears. And they realized, but the more scent that they put in, the more the donkey come closer to the service at the surface and the donkey become higher and higher and higher. And then they realized, but here is the donkey. It's easier to take out the donkey there. Now, what happened is that this donkey, every time whenever they put scent on him, he just shook it off. And as he shook it off, it becomes under his feet and he becomes getting up, up, up, up, up by the time he's up. Now, the message I'm giving to you this morning is the same as what the donkey has been coming. Because I want you to understand that as I'm about to go into this message, I want you to understand that certain things in life you have been giving up on. Some things is that I want to start a business, but things doesn't go according to the plan. But the thing is that you should be knowing that you should be asking God a lot of times. What am I going to do about this? The plan, pardon me, the plan is to start a business. But I have been doing it so many times on my own. So God, to help me, help me, please help me to actually gain more into this. Because the message, I mean, the business that I'm having is not getting the right traction to move forward to where I want it to be. I've been doing it on my own. Now it's time for you to go back to the one that started everything in the beginning to help you to start. So this morning, I want you to take the time and actually do this. Now, what you're going to do is you're going to first start off by saying, Lord Jesus, I can't do this on my own anymore. You take control and move in my business. You take control and start it for me. You take control and move it to the next level. Wherever you are, take that time and say, God, I'm done. Am I speaking to somebody this morning? Is there somebody who understands that certain things is not easy to do it? Because as you come along, you will be having the same issues than what this donkey has been having. Whenever you start to do your business, your family will be telling you, but you, you know, you can't be having a business. You will be drinking all this money out. No, no, no, no, no, no, no. Say to him, Hey, I don't care, even if I drink 70 grand and I use 30 grand to continue with my business, I will do it. Don't give up on that moment, otherwise, if you give up, they'll be sad in this situation. So there's who comment as viable. I know. I know how I'm on how I'm on how hold on to hold on that is easier for you because once you start holding on and knowing the end goal that you have the better it become I mean I've been you've been pursuing this conference for many times every time this this girl is just telling you no it won't work I don't like you this and that the other you turn around go back and fix whatever she said is wrong with you come back and start again if she said but I don't like the smell of your breath go back and brush your teeth come back and start again and say okay I've brushed my teeth what else is there that I need you because I want you to be my girlfriend regardless of whatever then you move on whenever you go and then you apply for the for home loan and they say to you no you cannot have a home loan because you have a problem one two and three you don't give up at that moment you go back and say okay you said one two and three is so if it is that I can fix that will you be able to give me the home loan whenever they say yes you go back and fix whatever they said to you that should be fixed because if ever you give up at whatever report they're giving to you you will be having a situation where you will not be going forward in life because every time you give up you become to be you you started becoming a give up person a person that is just giving up you just give up on any wind that comes give up if you set your sail according to the wind then things will start to get better because this is the reason why many people don't know how to set their sails according to the wind because the same wind is the wind that skips forward it is just for you to set your sails so what I'm actually saying is that whatever you want to become regardless of whatever the sea if there's a wind if there's a storm apologize if there's a wind if there's a storm if there's a whatever rain come rain high waters sun you just align your your sails to move into the direction where you want to become because it doesn't help you giving up because by giving up when you are on the sea you will be like a Noah you will be like a Jonah I mean a Jonah that will actually be sitting on the sea and then realize that there's too much wind and they start throwing you off and because they don't want somebody who doesn't want to go with them or to them so this morning I want you to understand that giving up is not for you it might be for your brother it might be for your sister but giving up is not for you start believing in yourself because once you start not to give up on one thing you will realize that you can't do it in another thing as well and then you realize you can do it in another thing as well you realize you can do it in another thing as well by the time you realize your birth of that confidence of knowing that you will be getting there but if you feel like you cannot do it then it's best just to go to the person who made the heaven and the earth go to Jesus and ask him Lord Jesus for far too long I've been sitting here let me go back to my scripture just to to to give you an understanding what I'm meaning up because if you go on to John 21 we can read read it together John 21 now I'm reading it out of the version John 21 John 21 I'm starting reading from verse 3 I'm starting to read from verse 3 Simon Peter said to them I am going fishing they said to him and we are coming with you so they went out and got into the boat and throughout the night they caught nothing so picture this going onto a boat going fishing right through the night now remember when you're looking at your life difficult situations is situations that is like nighttime it is dark it feels like you I can't take it anymore the pressure is too high maybe you are in that work situation you're working and then as you're about to just grow up in work then suddenly things doesn't work according to your plans then you you want to give up because the nighttime is there nighttime is there but as the scripture go on further morning was already breaking when Jesus came to the beach and stood there however the disciples did not know that it was Jesus so so this is why why it's so nice to say there's a there's a there's a hymn that says he comes in the morning of course singing african subversion because african subversion is a bit better for me because I'm not so good at english he doesn't come in the morning the devil has thought it's done with me he doesn't come in the morning to give me new hope Jesus doesn't come in the morning the devil has thought it's done with me he doesn't come in the morning to give me new hope so Jesus doesn't come in the morning the morning where you spend the whole night toiling you spend the whole night struggling to catch just one fish you are so struggling and then if he doesn't come in the morning then he doesn't come in the morning as early as and and when he came you didn't realize it's actually him that is coming to you so therefore you need to you need to you need to go on and ask so Jesus said to them boys children do you not have any meat do you meet your fish do you have you got anything to eat along with your bread they answered him no and he said to them cast the net on the right side of the boat and you will find some so they cast their net and now they were able to hold it in for such a big catch mass quantities of fish was in it now picture this this you were about to you were about to give up just as as as daybreak you're about to give up now this morning i want you to understand your breakthrough is literally starting a day in the morning because the bible say weeping might endure for night weeping might endure for night but joy come in the morning now my question to you is which morning are we talking about because some of the times we find ourselves that you said it's morning only when the sun comes out but do you know that morning actually starts at 12 o'clock at night because that's the next morning because 12 o'clock at night it is still dark so whenever you go through somebody your morning is already there it's already starting to to to become something that you need to move out of or move into but because of the situation the circumstances that is surrounding you is showing you something else it's showing you differently so this morning i want to tell you this morning that as you were about to give up as things are starting as the wind is starting to show you flames and you feel like is it's just the time when breakthrough is starting to happen so so when you break is me And just as Jesus came, Jesus immediately saw the need. Now the nice thing about Jesus is that he doesn't force you, he doesn't break you in someone's life. He asks the question. Because he didn't demand it. He didn't demand something from you. He just asked if he might have it, if he can have it. Because what happened is that whenever you come to the Lord, God will not demand something from you. He will ask it from you. And whenever you say no, he will not force you. He will not force upon you. Because if you can look at this, he said it so nicely. He said it so nicely. So Jesus said to them, boys, you do not have any meat perhaps, do you? Ece, Ece, let me put it in today's time. Let me put it in today's time. Is your business not about to hit a million? Is your business not about to hit a million? Jesus asked. And you said, no, no, no, no, I've been struggling for so long. I couldn't even make ends meet. Then he comes to you and he said, cast your net to the right. Whatever you've been doing up to thus far, change your strategy, change your way of thinking, change into a better strategy. Because once you change your strategy, moving your next to the right, that's when you start catching more fish. So the question here is what God is asking you. Your marriage hasn't been going right. And then you are just about to divorce and God is asking you. But do you know that your wife is loving you that much? All you need to do is just tell her. Did you tell her? Did you tell her you love her? Just as you were about to give up because she gave up on you. You just tell her, I love you. Cast your net just to the right. I love you. And that will make you to move to the next level. Your boyfriend has been giving you so much hassle that you can't understand. But how come this one has been... He holds you like this. If I want to go that way, he holds you like this. You don't have the direction to go. Just as you told me. But I can't go on like this for 60 years. This is the time when Jesus asks you, but did you tell him? You are the only one for him. Did you tell him that he is the only one for you? Did you tell him the moment you answer that question and you tell him, Do you know that you are the only one for me? Immediately he will change. Now my question this morning is that whatever you have been trying, have you tried a different strategy? Because once you try a different strategy, it's actually when God comes in and say, wow, well done. Well done. Now you will have such a feast because remember, when God gives you something, He gives you something not just a small piece of fish, but the multitude so that your boat is overflowed of things. Whenever God is restoring your marriage, it will be where you had one child, the marriage will flourish to be having four children. The marriage will flourish where you have one house, you will have many houses. Your marriage will flourish so much that whenever Jesus comes into your boat, things will flourish. It will not just be a small piece that He gives to you. It will be something big. So this morning is only for you to ask Jesus, Am I, am I in the right place? Am I in the right place? Am I in the right place? So this morning, whenever you come into the Lord, tell Him, Lord Jesus, I am sorry. I am sorry, I cannot take this anymore. So I want to pray for you this morning. I want to make sure that you understand, certain things in life happens, but it's for you to come to Jesus and ask Him. Nighttime has been for far too long. So your nighttime has been coming on far too long. For those of you that feel your nighttime has been going on for years, one night felt like years that it's been going on like this. I want to pray for you this morning. I want to ask God to come and bring the dawn to you, the morning light. So I want to ask God this morning to touch you, to move you into a place where you feel like He's been in my boat. Not just a touch of Him, but a multitude of breakthrough for you. Because what happens most of the time, people tend to think that whenever Jesus comes to you, it needs to be something that is just a small help from Him. No, my God doesn't work that way. Whenever He helps you, He gives you in abundance, because He is the one that owned the abundance. So this morning, I want to pray for you that wherever you felt like, you know, my sickness, because this is what happened there, God say to you this way, you have been so sick for a long time, you felt that the nighttime has been long. All He asks you is that as He was dying on the cross of Calvary, did you think what the Bible is saying? Have you called in the elders to anoint you? That's what He asks. Have you called in the elders to anoint you? Once the elders comes in to anoint you, you stand upon His word, because that is what His word says. You will call in the elders, they will anoint you and you will get your healing. So this morning, there's so many things that happen in your life. All you need to do is ask Him. Lord Jesus, I have been struggling with this situation. What am I going to do going forward? What am I going to do? What is your vision for me going forward? Please, Lord Jesus, help me in this. I've been working day and night. Finances didn't come through as I was planning. How come? Because what happened is that most of the time, we're working so hard and still not reaping the reward. So wherever you have sown, you shall be reaping and not just reaping what you have sown, but in a multitude pressed down, shaken together, running over will be added in your bosom. That is how God is putting things out there for you. But for you is never, ever, ever, ever give up. Because once you gave up, you gave Satan the upper hand to make you think that every time you give up, you're a loser. You're not a loser. You are somebody that God has been given to, to stand as a winner man, a man that has been overcome by every trials and tribulations. Because remember, as you were toiling the night, trials and tribulations come your way. Count it all joy that when trials and tribulations come, because through that, your God will show his glory upon you. So this morning, I pray for you. Heavenly Father, I count you in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior. You are God. You are no man that you should lie. You are God. And whenever you say, whenever we ask you something, you said we will receive it as long as we ask. You are God. And you said that you honor your word more than yourself. So this morning, I want to ask Lord Jesus that, as your word went out never to give up for the God, I ask you to come in my boat this morning and each and everyone that is listening to this and sitting here for the God, come into the boat, show that you are God in their lives for the God. I ask now in the mighty name of Jesus that, even though the burdens is heavy for the God, you said come to me. My burden is light.
